The Discharger may be contacted by mail at 555 Washington Street, Red Bluff, CA 96080. The treatment system at the Facility consists of bar screening; aerated grit removal, primary sedimentation, biological treatment by activated sludge, secondary sedimentation;filtration; disinfection; and dechlorination. Primary and waste activated sludge is aerobically digested then dewatered in sludge drying beds. Dried sludge is hauled to a landfill. Approximately 2.5 million gallons per day (dry weather flow) of treated wastewater is discharged through an outfall pipeline to the Sacramento River, a water of the United States. Discharges from the Facility are currently regulated by Waste Discharge Requirements Order R5-2007-0041, issued by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (Central Valley Water Board) on 04 May 2007. An Order is proposed to renew the NPDES permit. The Discharger is expected to be able to immediately comply with the tentative NPDES permit, if adopted.
