Wood led a big turnaround last season when the Rattlers improved from 1-10 to 4-7, including from 1-7 to 4-4 in the MEAC. … Florida A&M, which is getting a $750,000 guarantee payout from Ar- kansas according to the Tallahasee Democrat newspaper, will ride a bus from Tallahassee, Fla., to Little Rock for the game rather than fly in order to save money. … Not only is Florida A&M making a long drive to Little Rock, but the Rattlers will play Arkansas five days after their season opener against Texas Southern on Aug. 26. … The Rattlers are getting some early-season national exposure with their 11 a.m. game against Texas Southern being televised on ESPNU and their Thursday night game at Arkansas on the SEC Network.
