The Chamber is approaching 50 years of celebrating business success this way. As we stop to appreciate the accomplishments of last year, we are also focused on how the events of 2016 and 2017 will shape the future of our community. We are truly beginning to realize how through collaborative efforts we have unlimited opportunities for success well into the future. Here is a quick summary of the awards. THE REALTOR CUP For 49 years this award has been bestowed upon an individual who made an outstanding contribution to the civic, economic and cultural growth of our community. Last year's winner, Murray Duggins, is a perfect example of an individual who gives of his time and treasure in support of our community. THE ATHENA AWARD This award has been bestowed since 1994 and recognizes the person, man or woman, who actively assists women in realizing their full leadership potential. Last year's awardee, Shauna Hopkins, the Find-A-Friend coordinator is an exemplar of leadership with youth. THE BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD Recognizes an organization demonstrating innovation and creativity among its peers. Last year's winner, Kingdom Development CDC operates two IHOP franchises that employees over 50 people and funds its nonprofit activities with the profits from the restaurants. We have other awards that evening including the Mayor's Small Business of the Year, The Fayetteville Young Professional of the Year and the Chairman's Award. So, who will be the honorees this year?
