The Earl Scruggs Center and Plaster Family Dentistry present the 7th annual Rhythm and Roots 5k walk/ run and 10k run starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, No- vember 5, 2016. There will be live music at a number of locations along the route. Mu- sicians on the route include Wiregrass and Pistol Hill. Additional music provided by mu- sic sponsors Newgrass Brewing Company presenting Scott & Nikao Acoustic Duo at the corner of Warren and Lafayette and Morgan and Wells Bed and Breakfast presenting Har- old Williamson and the New Wandering Souls at the corner of Morgan and Wells.. An after race celebration takes place with refreshments and live music by Harvest with an awards ceremony following the 10k to con- gratulate the top three overall male and fe- male fi nishers for each race and the top three male and female fi nishers in each age group. Youth participant fi nishers receive a Rhythm & Roots Run youth participation award. Plaster Family Dentistry is again making it possible for one school's PTO to win 250 dol- lars and have a personalized trophy they can display at their school until the 2017 Rhythm & Roots Run (November 4, 2017). The award goes to the school that has the most students, teachers and parents participate in either the 5K or 10K event. Registration is available through race day.
