Emelia, PO Box 581, Quartzsite ABPA Certified No. 29-00027 928-916-4965 775-790-3260 hopes to do it by getting his followers into office, as Council Members. Who will blindly follow his agenda to dis- rupt the smooth flow of business and destroy any hope of Council solidarity. He has made it quite clear, that is his only agenda. The present Council Members have no personal agendas; except to protect, defend and provide, a safe friendly en- vironment for all. Foster's plan can only hurt property owners and sur- prise voters who choose not to vote. Voters keep the good government we all enjoy; citizens, vendors and all visi- tors come to Quartzsite, because it is what it is. Not what Foster and his like want it to be. He can only have that kind of power if you give it to him. Reject his bid for power to control your destiny and vote for those who desire to keep the town on an even and steady course of right thinking governance. Elmer London Still the best Quartzsite, for all the quarrels, spats, and folly, you're still the best place to spend the winter and be jolly. Love you Quartzsite! ditioning? We had 4 swamp coolers too keep them cool. We didn't leave them in the trailers when we left because the town didn't buy them- we did. The cats that were left out there were outdoor cats that never came in. We fed them, but for the most part they weren't really "ours". I don't want to make anyone mad but I am a teen- ager and if this bothers me don't you think it must bother other people too? I mean I am not afraid to stand up for what I believe in and this is something I think everyone should know, so here is the truth. Janepher McBride thewirelady Paw Power support Hi my name is Olivia and I live in Quartzsite. I know there have been a lot of rumors going around about Paw Power Animal Shelter. Well I just want to tell you the Truth! Honestly, I vol- unteered at the shelter and I can't even begin to say how much I loved being there. It was such a good atmosphere. People are saying all we had in the summer was a DESK FAN? Really, people come on. You seriously think that we would let the animals sit there in 110 degree weather with no air con- and some real fresh citrus, vegetables, hone, dates, nuts go? Because of the lack of knowledge and cost it takes to get you a little salad? We are making the same stupid mis- takes over. Let's not take up the work the farmer does to grow the crops. When the crop is harvested, to the cooler it goes. Dollars start adding up, sales persons must sell the crops by competing with foreign produce. Do you know where your produce is com- ing from? Did it come by ship or plane? I'm sure they gassed and sprayed it with heavy doses of Mansanto. They can tell us their secret to keep the pro- duce in an altered state. Don't wait for it to complete nature's cycle and bring in the sugar and flavor, because you will be waiting a long time. So remember, when you pass a new Produce regulations Should we let 40 years of knowledge town regulation concerning your food, take in mind a cement floor, a wash basin does not make our produce fresher, not at all. What it does do is making the markets leave. Produce is a life giving gift from Mother Earth. California just changed their produce Sincerely, Olivia G. Quartzsite May 2, 2012 laws because they did a study on pro- duce stores and stands. They changed the law about water and cement. What can or cannot be sold. If it comes from a farmer, then it belongs in a produce stand, as it comes from the farm. Hot cold water, cement floor does not make our produce safer. When we buy local farm fresh produce, we know where it comes from, keeps price down, less shipping, less cooling. And when it comes to our food, stop and think, do you want farm fresh produce or laws of a small town over ride state or county laws? More laws, higher prices, overseas produce, high- er rent, less product. We need the good old farmer's market law. Go to market, select fresh pro- duce, take home and enjoy the best American farmers can produce. Gary's Produce their charter. They're in the process of appealing the Arizona Charter Board's decision. You can access the renewal re- cordings on the Arizona charter board's website where they give the many rea- sons as to why it was not renewed; from failure to provide a learning environ- ment, to failure to practice general ac- counting practices. If they lose their ap- peal, the school will close. There won't be any high school to service students who don't want to be transported 40 minutes each way to Salome. Because of recent actions, the school Scholars' problems The Scholars' Academy recently lost is left in a state of ruin. Even if Steve McClenning is successful in finding people to join the corporate board to fight the appeal, they are left with a lot of problems. In a letter to the town council and manager this week, Billie Madewell stated a recent audit from the Arizona Department of Education showed that they were in violation of policy, and were accepting students from California, something that they both knew was not allowed. Past board members had brought this to their at- tention as something they felt could have consequences in the future. With those findings, whoever tries to fight the appeal and tries to continue on with TSA will be responsible for pay- ing back funds to the Arizona Dept. of Education, which I've been told is in the ball park of $400,000. They should have been fired for the reasons the charter was denied and the findings made public from the State Department of Education long before last week's actions.
