May 2, 2012 Assessor's Corner Sharon Schuler, your County Asses- sor would like go over a few things with you regarding your 2013 Notice of Value letters that were mailed out March 14, 2012. I am sure that a lot of you are wondering where your Notice of Value is. Well it could be sitting in our offi ce, due to a few system glitches we have had several hundred notices that were returned to our offi ce. If you have not received your notice yet feel free to call or stop by the offi ce and pick it up. It is very important that you make the necessary address correc- tion, please contact our offi ce if any changes are needed. Again this is not your tax bill; this is your notifi cation of value that has been placed on your real property and improvements. If you'll notice the letter format has changed from previ- ous years, this gives you the values for 2012 and 2013. If you feel that your property has been improperly valued or listed on the tax roll, you have the opportunity to fi le an appeal with The County Assessor's Offi ce within 60 days after the mail date on the front of your notice. You may visit the Assessor's Offi ce in person, by mail or by telephone and request an appeal form. We will be more than happy to mail one out to you right away. You can now access the appeal forms from the Department of Revenue's Website at, and down load the forms. You must understand that you will be only appealing the 2013 Value, not 2012 value, and you are appealing the Valuation of your property NOT tax dollars. Remember the appeal deadline is May 14, 2012. Please keep in mind that we can only give or mail the appeals to the titled owners of the property. Make sure your par- cel ID number, owners name, mail- ing address, and legal description on your notice are correct. Should there be a change of address or any other discrepancy, please notify our offi ce immediately so that we can correct our records (928) 669-6165 at your convenience. I believe there were about 20 artists attending. George handed out our new registry of members names and phone numbers and email addresses with 41 members. Jo handed out the new list of rules and what is per- mitted for our art shows. Then we all got busy and started painting. We were so happy to have Sonya Smith show us how to do the egg tem- pura acrylic painting technique once Page 11 again. This time we all got to paint along with her demonstration. It was great fun and amazing how well the brush glides and mixes with your paints and blends. Our next meeting of Thursday, May 3 at the Senior Center at 6:30pm, we will bring our fi nished paintings to show off and/or to have them cri- tiqued. Bring anything else you want to work on and have fun painting or if you need something critiqued or need suggestions or help on lay outs.
