APRIL 18, 2012 Vol. 8 Issue #150 www.DesertMessenger.com Salvation Army grand opening draws hundreds Quartzsite, AZ - The Grand Opening of "Sally's Place", the new Quartzsite Salvation Army building brought over 300 community members together Monday, April 9, 2012. The building is dedicated as "Sally's Place" in honor of Ms. Sally Wills, who donated the funds for the new building and property. The Red Ribbon Cutting Grand Open- ing event included daylong fun, with the fi rst 150 people receiving a Salva- tion Army shopping bag, Lapel Pin, and discount coupons. The Salvation Army Band entertained the crowd, while the Salvation Army Canteen from Lake Havasu served up hot dogs and drinks. Carol Kelley, Director of Salvation Army said, "The turnout was such a surprise! The support of our local community was just amazing!" Quartzsite shoppers can look forward to a beautifully designed store, packed with great deals in every department. "With all the space, we now have a great selection of furniture and appli- ances," stated Kelley. "You've really got to come in every day. As dona- tions come in, items are put out daily, sometimes all day long," she said. Creating an uproar with residents with residents was the headline, "The town is broke" in TDFP issue just before the March election.
