Time to ring in the New Year, as many of us are making resolutions, hoping to make some changes in our own lives and maybe even with those around us. This time for reflection of the past. Seeing how we got where we are today and how we can move forward in these challenging days can make us all a bit crazy. Sometimes, change creates discom- fort. Change is all about moving out of our comfort zone. We've all heard the www.DesertMessenger.com January 4, 2012 Editorial by Shanana "Rain" Golden-Bear horror stories of 2012 and the end of the world. Many are interpreting this to mean are moving from one reality to another. You have to admit, we live in amazing times. And sometimes this realization brings about fear of the unknown. It's easy to get caught up in the fear. When a "ringing" tuning fork is placed near another, the second picks up on the vibration and begins to "ring". If we can think of us a "human tuning forks" we can recognize how much what we think and do affects our friends, family and coworkers. Think about the office party when someone would just walk into the room and you could "feel" they were mad about something. That's the tuning fork in action. Imagine if we, "human tuning forks", are happy and peaceful with our our- selves and the world around us. When we approach another human tuning fork, our happiness begins to "ring" out. This works the same with fear, an- ger and the "mob mentality". We see this in action every day. If a vendor is touting his frustration, folks are energetically "put off". But when you see vendors having fun, interact- ing with their customers, visitors are drawn into the energy and are more willing to pull out their wallets. As a new year begins, we wash away the old, creating an opportunity for change to occur in the world. We are an active participants in the change we wish to see around us. May you "ring" in the New Year in joy, peace, prosperity, gratitude, fun, heath, help and happiness. A HUGE WELCOME TO OUR SNOWBIRDS! Quartzsite Rocks!
