January 4, 2012 1st Annual Scavenger Hunt Calling all adventurers! Have some fun with a new event for Quartzsite! Keith Kros- nicki, of BlueBlock Sunglasses, wanted to add some fun to the season. So he created the 1st Annual Quartzsite Scavenger Hunt. Everyone is invited to participate. There's no charge and no pre-registration needed. Keith and his wife, Rae, just wanted to do something fun for the community, and hope people take this opportunity to get to know the amazing vendors in town. Do you remember the fun you had as a child at birthday scavenger hunts? How about the movie, "The Great Race"? Well, now you too, can join the fun in Quartz- site! Teams of two or more can participate finding 20 "items" to be "retrieved" from all around Quartzsite, 15 are photos which can be submitted hard copy or emailed to thekandrshow@hotmail.com. Even though the fun began Jan. 1st you've got until 6pm on Jan. 14th to play. A camera is necessary and a good thinking hat, as there will be riddles along the way. How's it work? Get together with your friends, and pick up the list posted on bul- letin boards around town, or at Quartzsite Marketplace space #16, Library and Busi- ness Chamber. Go out and find as many of the "items" as you can (see below for first two). Place items and written answers to the riddles in an envelope and deliver back to Keith's booth, along with your team members' contact information. Each "item" is worth 10 points, and correct riddle an- swers are worth 5 points. Winners will be notified Jan. 15th. [Editor's note: Maybe you'll even find something nice to buy at their booth to say thank you for all their hard work. Or donate for their expenses.] Over 45 vendors and businesses have do- nated over $1100 worth of goodies for the "Treasure Chest". If your business wants to donate to the Treasure Chest, call Keith before Jan. 14. Winners will have 5 days to collect prizes donated from the businesses and vendors who kindly made all this all happen. For more information, contact Keith Krosnicki at 920-639-2841 or Rae at (920)492-9805. To get you started, Here's the first two CLUES: #1: The first item to be retrieved is a pic- ture of one team member centered under a sign that says "the Quartzsite Market- place". Location: 50 E. Kuehn St. Riddle is located on the right side of the "market- place" sign. Hint: you will need the an- swer to this riddle in order to complete the rest of the hunt!! #2: Your next sign in this adventure will need to be copied down with purple ink Location: INDZY LTAAH HERPT CF- BQTG.
