F CUS On Fayetteville Is First in State to Rollout New Software The City of Fayetteville is first in the state in rolling out a new software service that will make it quicker and easier for citizens to sign up to serve on one of the City's boards and commissions. The new Boards and Commissions Module is developed and maintained by Granicus, an industry leader in government IT solutions and citizen engagement software. Residents can visit www.cityoffayetteville.org/boards_and_commissions/ for a complete listing of all the boards and commissions and register online. While at the website, residents can read more about what each board and commission is responsible for. Residents can also see a complete listing of vacancies and if there is a vacancy they are interested in, signing up is as simple is clicking on a button and filling out a form. Residents without access to the Internet can still sign up by visiting City Hall or calling the City Clerk's Office at (910) 433-1312. Fayetteville City Council Member Bobby Hurst serves as the Chair of the Appointment Committee, which makes recommendations to the City Council for boards and commissions. "I am excited about the opportunity the new software will provide in attracting citizens to serve on a board or commission," said Fayetteville City Council Member Bobby Hurst. "Without citizens serving on boards and commissions, a city government cannot effectively operate." The Boards and Commissions Module on the website does more than make it easier for residents wishing to sign up and serve, but it is also an online tool for staff to manage appointments, vacancies and applications for Fayetteville Boards and Commissions.
