September 4, 2013 Cemetery news and "A Walk with the Past" By Dinice Ross The Cemetery and Cemetery Board wish to thank you for your patience with our road closure. The new road is open off Kofa road. The surfacing of the road and parking area look fantastic. The new road is a real bonus to the appearance of the Cemetery. We are gathering ideas for a new entrance design. Thank you to Public Works and the Parks Department for all their work. A Walk With the Past (formally "Spirit Walk") We are getting ready for the "Walk With the Past" coming November 2nd . This "Walk" will be very different from the previous years. You will enter a time warp through the gates of the Pioneer Hi Jolly Cemetery – see small vignettes that made up the small town of Tyson's Well, step up to the Sarsaparilla Bar and get a taste of the past. There will be cheaten gamblers, working girls, angry miners, a soul saving preacher, a stern sheriff along with some past residents of a quirky little town called Tyson's Well – now known as Quartzsite. Be prepared to laugh, be sad and surprised at some of the stories. Think of endless beans, crochet tablecloths, quick tempers and empty pockets. Be sure to mark Nov. 2nd on your calendar. Tell your Aunt and Uncle, invite your neighbor – just be there!! Quartzsite Children's Library update The Quartzsite Children's Library hosts Reading Program Story time, arts & crafts from 2:30 pm-3:30pm. Tuesday's story will be Camille Carries the Mail. After school tutoring program for all ages will be held at the Children's Library Mon-Thurs. Children 3rd grade and under will need an adult to be with them at all times.
