Following the reading sessions there will be ipads, kindles, laptops and tablets loaded with learning apps for the kids to play with. The program starts Sept. 3rd and continues throughout the school year, every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30. An extra hour, 4:30 to 5:30 will be devoted to special help with spelling/vocabulary and reading. Space is limited, so sign up soon. Come in the library or call 928-669-2622. The Parker Library also provides an ongoing program for teens and adults, Job Help @ Your Library. September 4, 2013 Quartzsite Elementary School news Three Important Ways Parents Can Be Involved In Their Children's Schooling We know that all parents are busy and many do not have time to volunteer at school during the day, but here are three very important ways that all parents should be involved with each of their children's education every year: • Understand what their children are learning and doing in class and reinforce those things at home; • Participate in family math, science, and reading nights at school; and • Use materials to help motive their children to study more effectively or to learn how to tap into children's interests to find things they will want to read. For more information about what your children are learning in school and how to help them at home, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher at Quartzsite Elementary School.
