This season finds CIA agent Jack Ryan (John Krasinski, "The Office") working as a case officer in Rome. When he is tipped off that the Sokol Project, a secret plan to restore the Sovi- et Empire, is being resurrected more than 50 years after it was thought to have been shut down, Jack embarks on a mission to confirm the intelligence. How- ever, things quickly go awry, and Jack finds himself accused of treason and on the run with a Red Notice for his arrest. As he works to evade his own govern- ment, Jack races against the clock to prevent a global catas- trophe. Based on the hit series of spy thriller novels by Tom Clan- cy, "Jack Ryan" was created for television by Carlton Cuse ("Lost") and Graham Roland ("Dark Winds"). This season also stars Wendell Pierce ("The Wire"), Michael Kelly ("House of Cards"), Nina Hoss ("Phoe- nix," 2014), Betty Gabriel ("Get Out," 2017), Kevin Kent ("13 Hours," 2016), Peter Guinness ("Zack Snyder's Justice League," 2021), Alexej Manvelov ("Cher- nobyl"), James Cosmo ("Brave- heart," 1995) and Mikhail Saf- ronov ("Anna," 2019). WHAT'S NEW ON PARAMOUNT+ "1923" - Season 1 Hit the open road and explore life in the Wild West in the new Western drama series "1923," premiering Sunday, Dec. 18 on Paramount+. A prequel to the smash-hit series "Yellowstone," the new series, much like the first spinoff prequel, "1883," dives into the dramatic and sto- ried history of the Dutton family. Following family patriarch Jacob Dutton, played by Harrison Ford ("Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope," 1977), and his wife, Cara (Helen Mirren, "The Queen," 2006), "1923" chronicles their struggles as they deal with the pressures of 1920s western ex- pansion, Prohibition and the Great Depression, which hit Montana a decade before the rest of the country. The series also stars Brandon Sklenar ("The Of- fer"), Darren Mann ("Chilling Adventures of Sabrina"), Mi- chelle Randolph ("The Resort," 2021), James Badge Dale ("The Departed," 2006), Marley Shel- ton ("Planet Terror," 2007), Bri- an Geraghty ("Big Sky"), Ami- nah Nieves ("Blueberry," 2021), Julia Schlaepfer ("The Politi- cian") and Jerome Flynn ("Game of Thrones"). Lee's hit 1999 film "The Best Man," the new, 10-episode miniseries se- quel, "The Best Man: The Final Chapters," premieres Thursday, Dec. 22 on Peacock. Now more than 20 years after the cast's sto- ry began, and nearly 10 since their stories evolved in the 2013 "The Best Man Holiday" sequel, the loving and sometimes-dys- functional group of friends have all grown up and their lives are all looking a lot different. As their relationships evolve and past grievances resurface, midlife crisis meets midlife re- naissance as the group work through this new stage of their lives. Original cast members Taye Diggs ("All American"), Morris Chestnut ("The Resi- dent"), Nia Long ("NCIS: Los Angeles"), Sanaa Lathan ("The Affair"), Terrence Howard ("Empire"), Regina Hall ("Honk for Jesus. Heading into the em- ployee-owned Eder Flag in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, "The Flag- makers" explores the stories of the flagmakers, a group made up of locals, immigrants and refu- gees who sew and ship five mil- lion American flags a year. Div- ing deep into the stories of the diverse group of employees — including sewing manager Radi- ca, a Serbian immigrant; Ali, a war survivor from Iraq; Mid- western-born Barb; and Sugar- Ray, who was born and raised in Milwaukee — the documentary explores who and what the American flag truly represents in our ever-changing world.
