This will be the last pumpkin class for the season. This class will be the fall version of our floral arranging basics for beginners. Class inc- ludes: pumpkin vase and flowers to take home with discounted refills, non alcoho- lic and specialty themed honey adult beverages from Beehive Yourself, a grazing table made by Beehive Yourself with local goodies for grazing, honey tasting and two hours of fun. Tickets are $65. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15 FAYETTEVILLE COMIC CON CROWN COMPLEX 6 p.m. Now there's something you don't see every day. Beardtoberfest is a facial hair competition that brings competitors and fans from around America. Categories include moustache, partial beard, full beard, freestyle and more. It is a fun-filled event with an entertaining competition aimed at camaraderie as well as philanthropy to better our local community. This event is being organized by Cape Beard and Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom. All funds raised are donated to the Karen Chandler Trust, a local nonprofit orga- nization. Join USO North Carolina for a morning of track walking, meeting new peo- ple and getting outside. All service members, spouses and children are welcome to participate. The goal is to exercise, meet new friends, build community and get people outdoors. Water will be offered and this event is stroller-friendly. THE COLOR OF ORDINARY CAPE FEAR STUDIOS 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Cape Fear Studios is pleased to announce a colorful experience with an exhibit of Donna Slade's art titled, "The Color of Ordinary." This exhibit features her intri- cate and colorful colored pencil drawings. Don't miss your last chance to see this award-winning fine art. The exhibit is free and open to the public through Oct. 25. The Cape Fear Studios is open Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18 THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13 DISTINGUISHED SPEAKER SERIES AIRBORNE & SPECIAL OPERATIONS MUSEUM 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Join the ASOM on Oct. 13 for a lecture presented by Robert Bielsky and exhibit curator Erin Blankenship of the Florida Holocaust Museum. Bielsky is the son of the legendary partisan commander Tuvia Bielski portrayed by Daniel Craig in the Paramount Vantage film "Defiance." He presents lectures throughout the world about the exploits of his father and uncles and the successful mission that saved over 1,200 Jewish lives during the Holocaust. Robert is active in many Jewish Organizations. He is a member of the Associates Board of the "Museum of Jewish Heritage," a living memorial to the Holocaust. This is a free event, however reser- vations are required. 6 p.m. MONDAY, OCTOBER 17 SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15 FSAFA YARD SALE 121 DEVANE STREET 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. The Great French-American Yard Sale is back! Furniture, housewares, kitchen and cookware, home decor and more will be on sale. BEARDTOBERFEST DIRTBAG ALES Begins at 10 a.m. Get ready for a weekend of cosplay, anime, pop culture, exclusive fan art, contests, panels and photo ops with special guests. Fayetteville Comic Con is celebrating the Year of the Tiger with donations going to the North Caro- lina Tiger Rescue. This fall's Con is also set to highlight martial arts in media. Guests scheduled to appear include Kung Fu legend James Pax, Sen Gao, Maxwell Swierczek. Others scheduled are Dmitrious Bistrevsky, GiGi Edgley, Mike O'Laskey, Brennan Meija, Lisa Marie Varon, Bai Ling, Karen Whitfield and many more. There are a number of ticket and pass options. SATURDAY - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15-16 FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14 FALL OPEN HOUSE BRAGG UNIQUE BOUTIQUE 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Join the Association of Bragg Spouses at the Bragg Unique Boutique for their Fall Open House. There will be snacks, drinks and door prizes available. Each person that enters the store will receive one ticket for the door prizes as well as a coupon to use at the BUB from November through December. Every $10 purchase earns 1 ticket for the door prizes. The winners will be announced via Facebook Live on Tuesday, Oct. 18. All proceeds go toward the Association of Bragg Spouses Scholarship & Welfare Fund.
