T8 WHATS UP! September 18 - 24, 2022 BY RAYE SMITH TV Media WHAT'S NEW ON DISNEY+ "Andor" - Season 1 The Star Wars franchise returns with a brand-new perspective in the new spinoff series "An- dor," premiering Wednesday, Sept. 21, on Disney+. Set five years before the events of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" (2016), "Andor" tells the origin story of rebel spy Cassian An- dor (Diego Luna, "The Book of Life," 2014) in an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue amid the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire. Heading down a dangerous path to stick up for what he believes is right, Andor embarks on the kind of journey destined to make him a rebel hero. Created by Tony Gil- roy ("The Bourne Identity," 2002), "Andor" is directed by Benjamin Caron ("The Crown"), Toby Haynes ("Doc- tor Who") and new director Su- sanna White. Genevieve O'Reilly ("Tin Star"), Alex Ferns ("Wrath of Man," 2021), Wilf Scolding ("The One"), Noof Ousellam ("Guilt"), Adria Arjona ("Morbius," 2022), Cle- mens Schick ("Casino Royale," 2006), Anton Valensi ("Lu- ther") and Fiona Shaw ("Killing Eve") also star. WHAT'S NEW ON HULU "Reboot" Get ready to deal with the past when the new Hulu original sit- com "Reboot" premieres Tues- day, Sept. 20, on the streamer. Once the stars of a hit (fiction- al) family sitcom called "Step Right Up," the dysfunctional cast has struggled for years to move forward in their careers and their lives. But when their series is picked back up for a re- boot starring the original cast, they must all come together once more, resolve their issues and try to grasp their second chance at fame. Starring Keegan-Michael Key ("Schmigadoon!"), Judy Greer ("Arrested Development"), Calum Worthy ("American Van- dal") and Johnny Knoxville ("Jackass: The Movie," 2002) as the sitcom's core cast, "Reboot" also stars Fred Melamed ("A Se- rious Man," 2009), Rose Abdoo ("Hacks"), Luke Millington- Drake ("Loot"), Bob Clendenin ("Cougar Town"), Kristian Flores ("Me Little Me," 2022), Mauricio Mendoza ("After School," 2014), Kenneth Mosley ("Kenan"), Michelle J. Costello ("East Los High"), Rachel Bloom ("Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"), Paul Reiser ("Stranger Things"), Izabella Miko ("Coy- ote Ugly," 2000), Krista Marie Yu ("Last Man Standing") and Dana Donnelly ("Everything's Gonna Be Okay"). WHAT'S NEW ON PARAMOUNT+ "SEAL Team" - Season 6 March back into the lives of Vi- acomCBS's brave Navy SEALs when Season 6 of "SEAL Team" premieres Sunday, Sept. 18, on Paramount+. The remainder of the season's 10 episodes air weekly on Sundays thereafter. As they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high- stakes missions the United States of America can ask of them, Bravo Team, the most elite unit of the Navy SEALS, undertakes daring missions all over the world in the name of their country and its citizens. As team members Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz, "Bones"), Clay Spenser (Max Thieriot, "Bates Motel"), Mandy Ellis (Jessica Paré, "Mad Men"), Ray Perry (Neil Brown Jr., "Inse- cure"), Sonny Quinn (A.J. Buck- ley, "CSI: NY") and Lisa Davis (Toni Trucks, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," 2012) do their best to stay on top of their jobs, they must also deal with the intense burden their careers put on their re- spective families. After Season 5 ended on an explosive cliff- hanger with a fiery ambush during the team's Mali opera- tion, Season 6 opens with the team grappling with the after- math of the attack. In 2018, 12 junior football play- ers and their coach saw a fun day of exploration turn into an unimaginable nightmare in the blink of an eye when they sud- denly became trapped in north- ern Thailand's Tham Luang cave. Having entered the cave without worry or incident, sud- den heavy rainfall partially flooded the cave system, trap- ping the group deep inside for 18 days. As the world watched with bated breath, the rescue effort — which made interna- tional headlines and involved more than 10,000 volunteers, rescue workers, divers, law en- forcement officers, soldiers and government representatives — worked tirelessly to free them. This new six-episode series fo- cuses on the young athletes' ex- perience as they anxiously await a way out.
