Cow Director Andrea Arnold records an intimate look at the daily life of an ordinary dairy cow named Luma living on an English farm. Luma's solitary and often pain- ful existence living in a loop out of her control, and her sole pur- pose on earth is as a milk supply. As viewers take in shots of Lu- ma's life roaming pastures and being prodded by unpleasant machinery, the cow's role in the dairy supply chain becomes clearer than ever. Director: Andrea Arnold. Stars: Lin Gallagher. 2021. 94 mins. Documentary. Minamata As famed World War II Ameri- can photojournalist W. Eugene Smith (Depp) descends into a solitary life, he is urged to visit Minamata, Japan, by Japanese translator Aileen (Minami), who hopes he could document the troubling allegations of disease and corporate greed. Agreeing to the task, Smith, with help from Aileen, soon uncovers a plot to cover up the decades- long mercury poisoning of the residents of the city of Minama- ta by the Chisso Corporation.
