As Roxanne is being courted by the duplicitous De Guiche (Mendelsohn), she falls head over heels in love with a mem- ber of Cyrano's regiment, Christian (Harrison Jr.). As Christian tries to reciprocate his love for Roxanne, he finds himself unable to do so and unwittingly relies on Cyrano's exceptionally crafted words — an expression of the writer's deep unrequited love.
