They will also feature one of North Carolina's own prodigies, 15-year-old double bass player Gavin Hardy. The concert will take place at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. FEBRUARY 12 - 14 CUPID'S TRAIL DOWNTOWN FAYETTEVILLE Downtown Alliance is hosting a Conver- sation Heart Scavenger Hunt in down- town Fayetteville. The DA Facebook page will be posting clues that will help you locate all the conversation hearts downtown left by Cupid. Take a selfie with each heart and then post the photos and tag @Downtown- FayNC on Instagram or Facebook. One person who completes the trail will receive a prize pack from Downtown Alliance. FEBRUARY 11 YOUR WHOLE LIFE IN A BOX J. BAYARD CLARK PARK Get to know North Carolina's State Reptile as you meet the J. Bayard Clark Park & Nature Center's resident Eastern Box Turtles. Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation have three box turtles. Their names are Granny, Piggy and Rusty. Learn about their species' unique features and how to protect wild box turtles. This event is free and open for all ages. It will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. Call (910) 433-1579 to register. FEBRUARY 14 FOR THE LOVE OF BIRDS LAKE RIM PARK Make an early Valentine's tweet for your feathered friends to show how much you care. Attracting and feeding birds will be discussed as well as how to participate in the upcoming Great Backyard Bird Count. The event will take place at Lake Rim Park. GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT CAPE FEAR BOTANICAL GARDEN Cape Fear Botanical Garden will be hosting this year's Great Backyard Bird Count - a national day where bird watchers of all ages count birds to create a real-time snapshot of where birds are. Park Ranger Amber Wil- liams from Lake Rim Park with Cumberland County Parks and Rec will lead a birding hike. There will be bird themed fun all day with beginning birder workshops for all ages, kids crafts, a touch table, hot chocolate, s'mores, and family fun games.Although admission to the event is free with membership or regular admission, pre-registration is recommended. FEBRUARY 19 LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH Lift Every Voice will take you on a journey through Classical/Opera, Sa- cred selections, to include Gospel, and Spirituals. This year's performance will celebrate the music of Motown, and will feature Cumberland County Arts members Brenda Vandervort-Miller, Corey Leak, Chris Colon, and Ryan Pagels. The Concert will also feature Dr. Denise Murchison Payton, Monique But- ler McLeod, and James Clark, with a special appearance by Cross Creek Chorale Artistic Director Dr. Michael Martin. FEBRUARY 19 FEBRUARY 12 VISIT WITH KEVIN MAURER AIRBORNE AND SPECIAL OPERATIONS MUSEUM Join Kevin Maurer to discuss his book, "Rock Force: The American Paratroop- ers Who Took Back Corregidor and Exacted MacArthur's Revenge on Japan" at the ASOM. This event is free for Museum Friend members and active-duty Soldiers. There is a $10 admission fee for all other members of the public. EVENING OF JAZZ SANDHILLS JAZZ SOCIETY The Sandhills Jazz Society is return- ing to live music for the first time in over a year with an Evening of Jazz. They will be putting on their very first show: Four Women. The show is a concert-like event, showcasing local talented melanated queens who will be performing songs of their choice.
