Captain Marvel, in the first female-led film of Mar- vel's sprawling cinematic uni- verse. Caught in a war between two alien races, a Starforce oper- ative with amnesia searches for her lost memories on planet Earth. Insecure HBO 9:05 p.m. Issa Rae and Yvonne Orji return as struggling best friends Issa and Molly in a new episode of this hit show's fifth and final sea- son. Seemingly different from one another, the series focuses on the careers and relationships of the Black women in L.A. Monday Landscapers HBO 8 p.m. Big-name stars Olivia Colman and David Thewlis play Susan and Chris Edwards, a real-life couple who have become the leading suspects in a vicious crime after two bodies were found in their garden. The four- part series comes from director Will Sharpe. Michael Buble's Christmas in the City (51) KNWA 9 p.m. Canadian crooner Michael Bublé returns to the Rockefeller Center's Studio 8H to host this holiday special featuring stand- up comedy routines, musical guests, extra-special celebrity appearances and, of course, the joy of the Christmas season. Tuesday Beauty Shop SHOW 5:15 p.m. Queen Latifah stars as a single mom who moves from Chicago to Atlanta in this comedy. Fed up with her boss's attitude, she opens her own hair salon and the business becomes a huge hit in the community. However, her former boss plots his re- venge. Abbott Elementary (29) KHOG (40) KHBS 8:30 p.m. This upcoming series features a special early premiere before its Jan. 4 release. Lisa Ann Wal- ter, Janelle James, Sheryl Lee Ralph and more star as elemen- tary school teachers in this fresh workplace comedy from comedian and actress Quinta Brunson. Wednesday Tough as Nails (5) KFSM 8 p.m. Twelve hard-working contend- ers are tested by a series of challenges meant to push their endurance, life skills and men- tal toughness to the limit at re- al-world job sites. Phil Keoghan hosts a new episode of this blue-collar competition's third season. Alter Ego (24) KFTA 8 p.m. Rocsi Diaz hosts this new com- petition series in which contes- tants create an avatar alter ego and use it to perform a series of songs. Canadian icon Alanis Morissette, 98 Degrees' Nick Lachey, Black Eyed Peas rapper will.i.am and Grimes act as judges. Thursday Project Runway BRAVO 8 p.m. Aspiring designers get the chance to prove they have what it takes to make it big in a new episode of this hit fashion com- petition series. Christian Siria- no returns as the designers' mentor with judges Nina Gar- cia, Elaine Welteroth and Bran- don Maxwell. Wild Wild West SYFY 9:30 p.m. Will Smith and Kevin Kline star as Secret Service agents at- tempting to protect Ulysses S. Grant (also played by Kline) from an evil genius in 1869. This infamous action-comedy topped the charts in 1999 as one of the most expensive films ever made. Friday A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas FX 5 p.m. In the third install- ment of their wacky series of misadventures, Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) embark on a journey to find a replacement Christmas tree in this holiday comedy, once again meeting up with Neil Patrick Harris along the way. Day of the Dead SYFY 9 p.m. Keenan Tracy and Natalie Ma- laika star in a new episode of this series based on the zombie films of George A. Romero. Cornered and looking for a safe escape, the group takes an in- timidating troop of armed strangers up on their offer to help out. Saturday The Da Vinci Code SYFY 11 a.m. Oscar winner Tom Hanks teams up with director Ron Howard once again in this action-packed thriller based on the popular novel by Dan Brown. Symbolo- gist Robert Langdon (Hanks) tries to solve an ancient secret when mysterious symbols are left in the Louvre. Caddyshack AMC 5 p.m. Legendary funnymen Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Murray and Chevy Chase star in this cult- favorite sports comedy from di- rector Harold Ramis. A high- class, exclusive golf club is ter- rorized by unruly new mem- bers and a particularly elusive gopher. Saturday Night Live (51) KNWA 10:30 p.m. Musical sensation Billie Eilish hosts and performs in a new episode of this live, late-night comedy sta- ple's 47th season. Tonight, the pair interviews director Steven Spielberg about his upcom- ing adaptation of "West Side Story," releasing Dec. 10. Rita Moreno and other cast members appear.
