To read your Bible Daily? To read the entire Bible this year? It will take about 15 min. a day to hear what God is saying. Quartzsite Church of Christ By Jackie Deal Remember when gasoline cost an average of $1.15 per gallon? That's when musical entertainers Bernie & Red fi rst appeared in Arizona. The year was 1996 and Bernie and Red have performed here each year since then. This year they will be at the Quartzsite Improvement As- sociation (QIA) for only one per- formance. Don't miss it! Tuesday, January 29th at 7pm. Their sly humor reminds one of The Smothers Brothers and maybe Johnny Carson. Bernie even does a Johnny Carson routine and no one can forget Red's trip over the moun- tains, to pick up a prize bull and re- turn him to the barnyard. As Bernie narrates, she huffs and puffs up the mountains, and back at the ranch she imitates a whole barnyard of an- imals. If she doesn't have you roll- ing in the aisles there's something wrong with your funny button. They poke fun at themselves, RV travails, and married life in general. Veterans of the Arizona Winter Vis- itor scene, they relate to life here in Quartzsite. This year they will pack in almost 40 concerts between Jan- uary & the end of March. And they are superb musicians; their music covers every era, but mostly those classics that we all re- member from the 50's & 60's. They have more than a dozen CD's and an Autobiography/Songbook, "Our Story" which contains biographical information and 20 of their origi- nal, humorous songs. This is a show not to be missed. Re- member: January 29, at 7 pm. Tick- ets available at the QIA offi ce, 235 E. Ironwood, Quartzsite. Tickets are $10/person. Call 928-927-6325 for more info. Full details of their tour schedule can be found at the Bernie and Red website, www.berniean- dred.com. You can also follow them on Facebook.
