30 www.DesertMessenger.com January 16, 2019 Have You Considered? How does each individual become one of the called in Christ? In II Thess. 2:13-14 Paul says, "God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation – through sanctification of the spirit and belief of the truth. Wherewith, He called you by our gospel." First, God wills all men come unto the truth and become saved through belief and obedience to that truth. In Rom. 10:17, Paul says, "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God." Faith, belief, trust, and obedience to the word of God causes one to believe and obediently follow the steps it takes to be saved. Believe the gospel-repent of your sins-publicly confess your faith in Christ-be buried with Him in baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and be raised to walk in newness of life. Work out your own salvation. So Consider this…. Are you ready to be one of the called out by Christ through the Gospel? Worship @ 10 a.m. Sunday Ladies Bible Study Friday @ 1 p.m. If we can assist you in any way, please email us at QuartzsiteChurchofChrist@gmail.com Quartzsite Church of Christ - 76 N. Amelia Ave. QuartzsiteChurchofChrist.com The Quartzsite Desert Flyers, (the radio controlled fl ying club) is start- ing its 13th season in Quartzsite this year. We welcome back all experi- enced, new fl yers and spectators to another season of fl ying and cama- raderie. The club has a membership of 100 fl yers of all levels: from begin- ner to the most advanced. We meet each morning, weather permitting, at the James B. Colwell Field, 780 North Plymouth Road. Thursday evenings staring at 6 p.m. we have night fl ying. In an attempt to attract jet planes to the fi eld, last summer the Town of Quartzsite extended the runway by 125 feet. They also resurfaced the full 625 foot runway length. We have a "cross runway" to take ad- vantage of the northwest winds we frequently experience in Quartzsite. The fi eld consists of six fl ight sta- tions, 18 outside work benches, and a solid covered shelter to work in out of the wind. The area is covered with carpet to keep the dust down. Our monthly business meeting is held the second Wednesday of ev- ery month at Jimmy's hangar, 1365 Datig Drive at 9 a.m. Membership fees are $10 annually and a mem- bership in the A.M.A. (Academy of Model Aeronautics) is mandatory. If you have any interest in fl ying, wish to learn how to fl y, or just want to be a spectator and talk to the pilots feel free to join us. Please don't be shy. This season's Fun Fly and Air Show will be expanded to cover three days, February 8, 9, and 10, 2019. Friday will have a demonstration of night fl ying, Saturday will be our regular air show, but expanded to take in the afternoon, and the fi nal day will have an informal fun fl y and a swap meet.
