Joseph Penn '21 (A1742), Jonathan Didas '21 (A1744), Matt Villa '20 (A1743), Benji Prashker '21 (A1740), and Roberto Davila '21 (A1741) spent work weekend cleaning and reorganizing the kitchen to keep the house functional during the semester. www.alpha6294.com 150 YEARS OF THETA XI: Alpha Chapter Maintains Academic Success with 3.14 Cumulative GPA Welcoming Our Newly Initiated Brothers and Recognizing Our Graduates Alpha Chapter happily congratulates eight newly initiated brothers from the fall 2017 new member class. ese new brothers come from a diverse spectrum of backgrounds, and we are confident in their ability to carry on the proud traditions and bonds we have formed as a chapter. We are ex- tremely excited to provide a home for these new brothers in the fall 2018 semester. With the guidance of our recently graduated senior members, the Alpha Chapter of eta Xi is in a strong position with a genuine and tight-knit brotherhood. ese same senior members have helped us to two consecutive President's Cup wins and given back in countless ways to the brotherhood that gave them so much. Alpha Chapter Brothers Experience Academic and Professional Success Here at the Alpha Chapter, the support system that both active brothers and alumni provide to our members enables our members to reach their full academic and professional potential. For the fall 2017 semester, we posted a chapter GPA of 3.06, with a cumulative GPA of 3.14, both of which are well above the all-fraternity average at RPI. Additionally, eight of our broth- ers secured co-ops or study abroad programs for the spring 2018 semester, gaining valuable work experience at companies such as NASA's Jet Propul- sion Laboratory and Harley-Davidson. Many of our brothers have also ob- tained summer internships at dynamic companies all across the country, investing the skills and lessons they have learned from eta Xi in the pro- fessional world. Brothers Connor Duncan '21 (A1739) and Benjamin Lanning '19 (A1719) attended Vredenburgh Presidents Academy and Rising Stars Academy, respectively, over the 2017-2018 winter break in St. Louis, Missouri. Brother John Wilt '18 (A1698) worked with the National Fraternity to help facilitate these academies. All of this is part of Alpha Chapter's efforts to build and maintain a strong relationship with eta Xi National. Members Are ankful for Safe and Beautiful Living Environment Renovations Make a Real Difference e Alpha Chapter of eta Xi has undergone quite a transformation over the last few years. Many alumni who visited us for Founder's Day week- end commented on how the chapter house has improved immensely since their time as undergraduates. We as active brothers are very grateful for all the support that our alumni have provided to us through the capital cam- paign fundraising and renovations that have already been completed for the house. ese improvements make our chapter house a more attractive des- tination for prospective new members and significantly improve the quality of life that actives living in the house get to enjoy. A safe, functional, and beautiful living environment gives our students a refuge from the stressful realities of RPI, while also promoting our own history and ideals through the beautiful artwork found in our bathroom mosaics. Having just finished my own junior year at RPI, I only wish that I could have the opportunity to be an active brother and live in the historic Alpha Chapter house as still more renovations are completed. I look forward to coming back on a regu- lar basis aer my own graduation to see how our alumni support continues to guide and benefit the Alpha Chapter of eta Xi. Yours in the Bonds, Ben Lanning '19 (A1719) Chapter President (612) 219-7863 lannib@rpi.edu Zachary Sitte '19 (A1725) working hard during the spring 2018 work weekend, redoing the basement bar. It was great to see brothers giving back!
