S ince our founding in 1985, Sigma Phi Epsilon has been at the heart of Greek life at Florida International University. With more than 1,000 initiates, Florida Nu Chapter has influenced the lives of numerous men, cultivat- ing lasting friendships in the process. As alumni, we can trace many of our best college memories back to our SigEp experience. As we look toward the future of SigEp at FIU, we know that investing in the Chapter is critical for our con- tinued success and growth. While the SigEp experience is certainly more than any physical structure, a gathering place for Florida Nu to call "home" would undoubtedly play a sig- nificant role in the development of our brothers and serve as a proud symbol of our shared values and goals. Through careful study, assessment, and planning, the AVC has developed exciting plans to build a $1.5 million multipurpose learning community facility and establish a $500,000 endowment for scholarships and leadership grants. The facility will be the first of its kind for FIU, the first in the state, and a model for other unhoused chapters looking to be accredited within SigEp's Residential Learning Community (RLC) program. To make this project a reality, the generous and significant support of every alumnus is needed. Many have already stepped up. We're honored to officially announce our first ever fundraising campaign, Building Our Future, Securing Our Legacy. Initial commitments from dedicated Florida Nus total more than $1.1 million. This early support exem- plifies the lifelong importance of our experience as SigEps and adds to the reason we believe that we can reach our goal of $2 million with your help! In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing plans for the SigEp Learning Community (SigEp LC) and endowment and ways in which you can join our ef- forts. For now, I hope you will read each element of this very special issue of The Florida Nus and enjoy the story of early contributor and AVC member, Francisco Oses '94. We have also recognized all our initial supporters on page 3 and are humbled at the thought of you soon adding your name.
