Arrests • Kevin John Johnston, 34 and Kayla Marie Scott, 21, both of Gerber were arrested Saturday at 9616 San Benito. According to a press release Tehama County Sheriff's deputies were conducting a proba- tion search on the resi- dence. Deputies found 1.5 grams of methampheta- mine and 13.1 grams of cocaine in the residence along with packaging mate- rials, two methampheta- mine smoking pipes and a semiautomatic handgun with the serial number stretched off. The pair were each charged with felony counts of possession of a narcotic for sale, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic, altering a firearm identifica- tion mark, possession of a billyclub or blackjack and misdemeanor parapherna- lia. Johnston was also charged with felon in a pos- session of a firearm He had an outstanding charge of possession of a controlled substance. His bail was $203,000. Bail was $105,000. • Eric John Lovely, 31, Jackson, Wyo. was arrested Friday on 36W east of Dib- ble Creek for possession of marijuana for sale and sell- ing marijuana. Bail was $60,000. 21-year-old girl reported they had been given drugs somewhere in the Corning area that made them sick. The pair were treated at St. Elizabeth's Community Hospital, but provided no further details. Elling- son was driving south on 99E when he came upon a gradual left-hand curve, which he failed to negoti- ate, causing the 2001 Kawasaki motorcycle to run off the road, overturn- ing. The motorcycle had major damage. Follow • Someone reported about 9:30 p.m. Saturday a person in a white Dodge Dakota almost hit her sister at the Papa Murphy's Pizza on Solano Street in Corning and was now following them. The reporting party stated they believed the dri- ver, a man in hat and camo shirt, was driving under the influence. He was last seen going east on Solano Street. An area check was made, but the vehicle was not found. • Someone reported Saturday morning at the Corning Police Depart- ment on Third Street being followed by an unknown person in a silver Lincoln or Cadillac. Corning Police received information at 11:59 a.m. Friday from the Tehama County Sheriff's Depart- ment that Northern Califor- nia Surgical Group in Red- ding had received a phone call from a Corning man on Fourth Street who had threatened suicide by a gun if he did not receive a phone call from them by 2 p.m. Corning Police made a check on the man, who did not meet the criteria of being a mental case. The man said he made the com- ments to persuade his doc- tor to get tests he needed done quicker. He refused medical from Corning Fire Department or the ambu- lance. Odd
