Uncertainty surround- ing the election kept investors reluctant to make big moves, said Randy Frederick, manag- ing director of active trad- ing and derivatives at the brokerage Charles Schwab. National polls show President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney in a tight race. The two candi- dates are spending the final days of the campaign holding rallies in Ohio and other states considered crucial to winning the White House.
