Are these quality people who hold you to a higher standard and pump you up to be all you can be or are they as draining as an emotional vampire? Sometimes people aren't reaching their goals because of who they associate with. Sometimes the attitudes, judge- ments actions of the people closest to us are the only thing keeping us from a better life. If you have lived in the same What type of people do you and you can't get out of the trap of buying the items that make you fit in with every one else. thing you say and do in relation to them. town all of your life you have peo- ple who have known you forever. These people may have characteris- tics that you have outgrown and the fact that you are still in an every day relationship with them keeps you from growing. Sometimes when someone says "you've changed" it may mean you have matured and they haven't. It may mean that you have tried to make better decisions for yourself and they aren't as ready to let you mature as you are. Sometimes if you have battled weight issues, it is hard for the peo- ple around you to let go of who they summed you up to be. That can sab- otage you from making lasting change. The trouble with trying to change a negative habit is that not everyone is on the same road to change that you are on. Sometimes you have to assess who you socialize with the most and see if it is a wise invest- ment of your time and energy. Just because some- one has always been a part of your equation does not mean that they should remain an everyday part of your life. Sometimes the people we are closest to are the vary ones who want you to stay broken because it makes them feel whole. Sometimes toxic people are better managed when they are where you can see them and if you cut them out you run the risk of opening a new can of worms. True, when you cut toxic people out of your life, they will not go quietly. They will rumor about you, they will glare at you as you pass on the street or in the gro- cery isle, but there is a freedom that is born from knowing you no longer have to worry about every- yourself you or you feel tired and worn out after spending time together it is a sign that you may have outgrown their association. Someone who has the emotional stability to let you shine and allows you to be who you are without constantly imposing their opinions is some- one worth spending your time with.
