4 CHAPTER ETERNAL Charles "Chuck" Henningsen E-554 '54 entered Chapter Eter- nal on January 18 as a resident of Taos, N.M. Chuck was a gallery owner in Taos and well known for his professional photog- raphy skills. Some of his work hangs in the Chapter House. He was a close and personal friend of photographer Ansel Adams. For the last few years of his life, Chuck battled Alz- heimer's. His son, Michaels, says, "My father fought to live every step of the battle. He was one of the most persistent people ever. I do not think he even knew the words give up." Perry Page E-852 '66 entered Chapter Eter- nal in 2007 while living in South Africa. He was formerly a resident of Los Angeles be- fore relocating to Hermanus where he lived with his wife, Sally-Ann. ALUMNI NEWS Jim Codlin E-221 '35 reached his centennial birthday on November 13, 2016. He is a re- tired director of product safety for Fiatallis, a construction machinery company. Jim lives in Estero, Fla. Donald Rogers E-444 '50 reports that he and his wife, Chantry, are in good health and ready to celebrate their 65th anniversary. They live in Roseville, Calif., and have seven grandchildren who all live nearby. They are avid bridge players, and Don is the director of a 35-person harmonica band that performs gigs at retirement homes. Philip Bartleson E-460 '50 retired from consulting in 2015. He recently went scuba div- ing in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Costa Rica. He has five children, eight grandchil- dren, and two great-grandchildren. They reside in Fort Collins, Colo. E-mail: jvknapps@gmail.com Clinton Dennis E-582 '55 spends his sum- mers on the Mississippi River in northeast Iowa. Winters are spent in Sanibel, Fla. His and his wife, Joyce, have a grand- daughter who is studying at Clemson. He is so proud of where TKE is going. E-mail: lovetofish4636@yahoo.com William "Bill" Hoefle E-699 '61 received the 2017 Order of the Knoll faculty and staff award from Iowa State Universi- ty Foundation. A pro- fessor in veterinary clinical sciences, Bill has focused on total hip prosthesis, bone grafts and osteosar- coma treatment in dogs during his tenure. His expertise is widely recognized, as he is a dip- lomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veteri- nary Orthopedic Society, and the Iowa Vet- erinary Medical Association. He is also on the IVMA Sports and Field Day Committee. "Iowa State University means everything to me," Bill told the ISU Foundation. "Pretty much since 1960, Iowa State has been my university or my employer, and I am proud to be an alumnus." Bill and his wife, Judy, reside in Ames. William Kirby E-636 '58 is a volunteer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada. In the winter, he skis one million vertical feet each season. He is also a PSIA certified ski in- structor at Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program. In the summers, he enjoys playing doubles ten- nis and motorcycling 1,000 miles per month. He also likes to visit his children and 17 grandchil- dren in Dubuque, Iowa; Charlottesville, Va.; and Leawood, Kan. He resides in Leawood as well. He is still a mu- sician and plays keyboards in a classic rock band, The Decades. Joseph Peterson E-768 '63 holds two doc- torate degrees (clinical psychology and law) and continues to pursue his craft, describing it as his "pre-retirement trajectory." He is con- fining his practice to expert witnessing and providing consultation services to the State of Florida.
