Our mission is to advocate for the progress and well-being of the Latino community, through programs and projects that promote education, leadership, development, and cooperation. Our vision is to be a meeting- point and connection-point in the community, facilitating the tools that generate a positive economic and social impact in Cumberland County and its surroundings. We were established in September 2016, from a vision of four amazing community leaders: Fernando Cerdeña – Compare Foods' Marketing Director Aurora Crowell – Fascinate-U's Marketing Director Abel Santiago – Latino Community Credit Union's General Manager Luis Collazo – City of Fayetteville's Human Relation Supervisor It is because of these four community leaders that this vision became a reality. Since the inauguration of LUFP, the organization has accomplished many events for the community: • In partnership with the Greater Fayetteville Chamber, LUFP began our Entrepreneurship workshops to those wanting to start a small business in Cumberland County, all in Spanish. • Mr. Collazo, collaborated with the City of Fayetteville's IT department, and provided information to all the Latino community in Spanish via the City's Website, all in Spanish during Hurricane Matthew. Latinos United for Progress is managed by their board of directors: Albeiro E.
