The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is once again proud to help the children of Cumberland County. The Shop With the Sheriff Charity began in 1995 and has proven to be a successful method of improving the quality of life for hundreds of less fortunate children within the boundaries of Cumberland County. This has only been possible due to the generous support given by unselfish individuals and businesses throughout Cumberland County. We hope this year the Shop With the Sheriff Charity will continue to grow and reach out to more less fortunate children in the community. Deputies assigned to Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Community Policing Unit will begin soliciting donations from individuals and businesses throughout Cumberland County in an effort to make this year's Shop With the Sheriff Charity a memorable and meaningful event for the children of Cumberland County. SEPT 15 • RIBBON WALK & RIDE FOR CANCER at the Medical Arts Center in downtown Fayetteville. Deputies of the Community Policing Section and Motors Section will host a charity motorcycle ride fundraiser. One hundred percent of all funds raised will go towards the Shop With the Sheriff Charity. The fundraising event is currently scheduled for Sept. 15, at 9:30 a.m., with a rain date of Sept. 22, at 9:30 a.m. The start location will be in the rear parking lot of the Cumberland County Courthouse and the route will end at the Retirement Military Association Building located at 120 Old Elizabethtown Rd. A copy of the route will be provided on the day of registra- tion. The route is approximately 90 miles long. Donations will be used to purchase personal hygiene products, clothes, school supplies and a gift for Christmas for referred children of Cumberland County. Individuals and businesses who wish to make a donation to help sponsor a child may do so by visiting any local Fayetteville BB&T Bank branch and make a dona- tion to the Shop With the Sheriff Charity of Cumberland County, North Carolina account or by contacting the Sheriff's Office Community Policing Unit at 438- 4015. Checks should be made payable to Shop With the Sheriff of Cumberland County, North Carolina. This donation is fully tax deductible. Your support makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.
