Council seeks Disabilities Champions The Tehama County Coordinating Council for Developmental Dis- abilities is looking for Champions of the Year. On May 15, the Council will host its sixth annual Circle of Champions award lun- cheon. The luncheon will recognize and honor members of the Tehama County community who have made a positive impact on the lives of people with develop- mental disabilities. Members of the pub- lic are asked to nominate someone they feel has been a champion for the developmentally dis- abled. Awards will be given to a person who has been a volunteer, someone who has gone beyond the call of duty while working for an agency, a professional who has provided out- standing service or a group that has served the developmentally dis- abled in an exemplary way. The luncheon com- mittee hopes those who were not selected in pre- vious years will be nom- inated again. The com- mittee would like a sec- ond chance to review the many contributions that have been made by indi- viduals who strive to make the world a place for the developmentally disabled. The deadline for nominations is April 2. Nomination forms are available from Laurie Schlottman at Puckett Residential Services, 528- 2130, or Judy Fer- rell at North Valley Ser- vices, 529-2100.
