Long and victim were parked beside each other at a local conve- nience store. An argument ensued between both parties at which point the victim left the scene in his vehicle. Long followed the victim and stopped his vehicle in the street outside of a res- idence where he pulled out a gun and fired a round in victim's direction. Long fled the scene and was later apprehended by police. • Robert Don Layson was sen- tenced to five years in state prison for vandalism over $400 damage; posses- sion of marijuana for sale, felon in pos- session of a firearm; transportation of a controlled substance. Layson was originally granted for- mal probation. He violated his proba- tion based upon NCR82408 and NCR82414. (NCR82408)-Agents from the drug task force served a search warrant at a residence where Layson had been staying. During the search agents located bags containing marijuana along with a revolver found hidden under a mattress. (NCR82414)- An officer contacted Layson whom he knew had a warrant out for his arrest. A search was conducted and the officer located methamphetamine in Layson's pocket. • Dennis Wayne Gunn was sen- tenced to three years in state prison for grand theft of personal property. Gunn was observed on a school security camera stealing several other security cameras in the area. A deputy contacted Gunn after recognizing him on the video and located three of the stolen security cameras in his posses- sion. • Michael Paul Oliveira was sen- tenced to three years in state prison for possession of ammunition. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Oliveira. The deputy conducted a search of the vehi- cle and located ammunition. The deputy was advised Oliveira was a convicted felon and had an active felony warrant for his arrest. • Jesse Dale Molarius was sen- tenced to two years in state prison for second degree commercial burglary. Police reports The following informa- tion is compiled from Red Bluff Police Department, Tehama County Sheriff's Department, Corning Police Department and California Highway Patrol. Arrests • Cassandra Michelle Ceja, 23, Corning was arrested for a felony charge of willful cruelty to a child and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influ- ence and battery. Bail was $60,000. • Karen Diane Erickson, Molarius was originally granted formal probation. He violated his pro- bation when he was arrested in Shasta County for attempted burglary and punching an officer in the face. • Joe Lugene Brown was sentenced to two years in state prison for driving while having a 0.08 percent or higher Blood Alcohol. An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Haigh. Upon contacting Haigh the officer observed the odor of alcohol emitting from Haigh's breath. After performing a series of field sobriety tests Haighs was taken into custody. • Eric Paul Mickelson was sen- tenced to 120 days in Tehama County Jail for vandalism over $400 damage. Mickelson had poured out numer- bedroom deputies located several mar- ijuana plants. Recent Proposition 36 Commit- Deputies conducted a search of Inside a ments Note: All cases wherein a defen- dant is sentenced per the terms of Proposition 36 are not at the request of the Tehama County District Attorney's Office. Per the requirements of Propo- sition 36, a defendant who possesses drugs cannot be sentenced to confine- ment time in jail or prison. Instead, the court must place defen- dant on probation and require drug treatment alone. Per the requirements of Proposition 36, only upon a third drug related probation violation may the court impose confinement time. In the event the defendant violates a non- drug related term of probation the court may then elect to sentence defen- dant to jail or prison. Wilmore was found in possession of victim's bank card that had been reported stolen. It was determined Wilmore had used victim's card at sev- eral locations totaling about $500 in unauthorized expenses. • Eric Eugene Smith was sentenced to 60 days in Tehama County Jail for aid by misrepresentation. Smith had been receiving food stamps from the County of Tehama and failed to report that he had been out of the county at the time he was receiving aid. This resulted in an over- payment of about $1,798 that Smith was not entitled to receive. residence on the 4000 block of Toomes Avenue was reported. A helicopter was requested to find the man, which it did, 10 minutes later, load- ing his kayak into the back of his truck. The man told deputies he was OK. 43, Tustin was arrested for felony driving under the influence within 10 years of a pervious felony driving under the influence. Bail was $15,000. • Janel Leilani Lacam- bra, 22, Los Molinos was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. Bail was $15,000. Around 8:30 p.m. Thursday a Tehama County Sheriff's deputy contacted Lacambra and another person who were trespassing on railroad property in Los Molinos at the Aramayo tracks. The deputy found Lacambra was in possession of 0.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine and arrested her. • Daniel Lee Sartain, 55, Red Bluff was arrested for a felony parole violation. • Joseph Curtis Wilcox, 25, Red Bluff was arrested for a felony parole violation. We further contend that in other specific cases where a defendant has an extensive criminal record and/or a history of non-compliance with either previous grants of probation or previous grants of drug treatment, a state prison sen- tence should properly be imposed. • Coral Christine Dickerson aka: Coral Christine Waters was sentenced to Prop. 36 probation for possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded to a local motel in an attempt to locate an individual who had a warrant out for his arrest. Officers contacted the wanted person inside the motel room along with Dickerson. A search of the room was conducted and the officers located methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. • Brandi Anne Hardy was sen- tenced to Prop. 36 probation for pos- session of a controlled substance. An officer contacted Hardy after she was observed parked in her vehicle on private property. The officer con- ducted a consent search of the vehicle and located methamphetamine. An officer contacted Hardy and was advised she was on felony probation. The officer conducted a search of Hardy's vehicle and located metham- phetamine. •A woman reported a man sliced her pool follow- ing an argument Thursday on Wiltsey Road. • Numerous vehicles were reported to have been vandalized Wednesday and Thursday at Gibbs Auto Body Repair. •A woman reported her ex-husband had broken her vehicle's windshield after he hit it with his hand on Highway 36E at Antelope. was reported stolen from the corner of Howell Avenue and Gilmore Road. The victim said they were inside paying for gas when the car with damage to its headlights was taken. •A man on Howard Court told police while he was incarcerated his room- mates sold and pawned his belongings. • Early Friday morning someone reported seeing a pair of juveniles looking inside of vehicles on Lin- coln Street. Howard Winfrey sustained major injuries in the crash. Win- frey was driving west on Forward Road at an unknown speed when he entered a curve in the road, allowing his 1981 Yamaha motorcycle to cross into the eastbound lane. The motor- cycle proceeded off the road and into a dirt field, continuing until it ran into a large oak tree, causing Win- frey to be thrown from it. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Crash A 79-year-old Manton Collision Smoke coming from the front wheel of a 1998 Honda tricycle caused a four-vehicle collision at 2:10 p.m. Thursday on northbound Interstate 5, north of Bowman Road, in the Cottonwood area. Fred Hunt, 72, of Springfield, Ore. was driving north in front of the other vehicles when he noticed smoke coming from the wheel and slowed to a stop, still par- tially in the slow lane, with- in the construction area. His wife, Teresa Hunt, 67, of Springfield, Ore. was behind him in a 1998 Nis- san Quest, followed by Candace Lokey, 57, of Red Bluff in a 2004 Pontiac and Ronald Smith, 55, of Los Molinos in a 1997 GMC Sierra pickup. Teresa Hunt stopped behind her hus- band, also partially blocking the lane and Lokey stopped behind her, but was com- pletely in the lane. Smith braked, but had failed to notice the vehicles ahead were stopped in time to avoid a collision and rearended Lokey, pushing her Pontiac into Teresa Hunt, which pushed her vehicle into her husband's motorcycle. No one was injured and all vehicles had minor damage except for Lokey's, which had major damage. Someone at the Salado Orchard Apartments on Toomes Avenue reported at 5:36 p.m. Thursday finding a bat under the stairway. Bat • At 7:25 a.m. Thursday, someone reported the theft of several trash cans taken from the West Street School campus in Corning. • Someone on Fifth Street in Corning reported Thursday reported the theft of solar lights taken overnight from their resi- dence.
