appy fall! Football season has officially started and our chapter
recently concluded a very successful recruitment.
One of my favorite songs from my Pi Phi days is the song "If." I
remember my preference night and being unsure about which house
to put on my bid card. As the Pi Phis started singing "If," tears started
stinging my eyes, and I knew at that moment I'd found my home. With all the ugliness
in the world lately, I often think about the last verse of this song.
California Gamma and Pi Beta Phi are approaching BIG milestones in 2017. Our
chapter will be 100 years old and Pi Beta Phi will be 150 years old! We are in the
planning stages of ideas for celebrations. We would love your help and ideas, so please
contact me with your input.
Summer ProjectS
We had a home inspection company do a thorough analysis of our electrical, water,
roof, and exterior so that we can be proactive for years to come as we plan and budget
for projects.
We painted the second and third floors, TV room, foyer, and staircase. We stripped the
stairwell handrails and found beautiful walnut beneath, which we stained.

If
If you can wear and love the Pi Phi arrow
And not forget that there are kites and keys
If you can show your love, yet not be narrow
Remembering there are other things than these.
If you can laugh and play and search for pleasure
Remembering yet that when the needs arise
Your arrow asks of you unstinted measure
Of sacrifice and love for all Pi Phis.
If you can dance and yet remember ever
The finer things for which your arrow stands
A character and womanhood that never
By unclean word or deed soils lips and hands.
If Pi Phi love is always thus abiding
Yet for the lonesome girl you have a smile
Why then I'll know that 'neath your arrow's hiding
A heart that holds all lovely things worthwhile.
