TEHEMA DISTRICT FAIR Festivitiesbegintodaywithvarietyofentertainment By Heather Hoelscher hhoelscher@redbluffdailynews. com @DN_Heather on Twitter RED BLUFF The Tehama District Fair hosted a Mon- ster Truck meet and greet Wednesday where fans met their favorite monster truck drivers, got autographs and took pictures with the driv- ers and their trucks. Among those monster trucks featured this year are Patriot, Titan, Hooli- gan, Raminator, Cyclops and the Terminator. Driver of Cyclops, Terry Woodcock, said he hasn't been to Red Bluff since 2002 and is looking for- ward to the monster truck event and the fair. One of the things that makes monster trucks so entertaining is all the de- struction. Fans love to see it and they love to see the cars get crushed, Wood- cock said. Also featured at the Monster Truck Spectacu- lar Thursday, Friday and Saturday are three mini- monster trucks, Skull Krusher, NorCal Diva and Monster Buddy from Team Kid KJ out of Flor- ida. The three mini-truck drivers tour together do- ing monster truck events across the country. Shane Plato, 8, has been driving his truck, Skull Krusher, for three years now, he said. Plato's favorite thing to do in his truck is rolling over, he said. He loves the sport and said it is very entertain- ing for the fans. The monster trucks will be taking over the Te- hama District Fairground arena at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. To purchase tickets, visit www.tehamadistrict- fair.com or call 527-5920.
