Mueck returned again later and punched the victim in the mouth causing her to fall to the floor. Mueck then held a razor blade to her throat and threatened to kill her if she contacted law enforce- ment. Mueck was arrested and taken into custody. While in cus- tody Mueck made several phone calls to the victim in an attempt to get her to recant her story in exchange for money and gifts. • Robert Laurel Clemans was sentenced to 32 months in state prison for failure to update regis- tration annually, special allega- tion-Prior strike. Mueck and victim had been in offender and failed to update his annual registration. • Miguel Alvarez Cervantes, was sentenced to 16 months in state prison for possession of methamphetamine for sale. Palma was intoxicated and punched the victim in the face sev- eral times while she was driving. Palma then grabbed the steering wheel causing the vehicle to swerve off the road. • James Ray Mooney was sen- tenced to 165 days in Tehama County Jail for commercial bur- glary; failure to appear on own recognizance. Mooney entered a convenience store and attempted to purchase an item with counterfeit money. When questioned by the clerk, Deputies responded to a resi- dence in regards to a disturbance. Upon arrival deputies were advised Carson and victim had been in an argument which became physical. When deputies arrived they located metal knuck- les which Carson used to punch a car window. When Carson was eventually located a brief struggle ensued before he was taken into custody. • Randal Leo Robertson was sentenced to 117 days in Tehama County Jail for possession of con- centrated cannabis, possession of a controlled substance with firearm. Officers responded to Robert- was sentenced to 90 days in Tehama County Jail for post release community supervision. In the event the defendant violates a non-drug related term of proba- tion the court may then elect to • Justina Lashalle Phelps was sentenced to 60 days in Tehama County Jail for aid by misrepre- sentation-Over $400. Phelps was receiving aid from the county while at the same time receiving unemployment benefits. Phelps failed to report the unem- ployment income to the county which resulted in an overpayment of about $4,926. Recent Proposition 36 Commitments Attorney's Office contends that each criminal case is unique and that in certain, specific, cases a defendant should be sentenced to a combination of drug treatment and jail time. We further contend that in other specific cases where a defendant has an extensive crimi- nal record and/or a history of non- compliance with either previous grants of probation or previous grants of drug treatment, a state prison sentence should properly be imposed. • Cregg Dudley was sentenced to Prop. 36 probation for trans- portation of a controlled sub- stance. The Tehama County District Deputies located Dudley naked and asleep inside his vehicle with a knife next to him on the seat. The deputies were advised Dudley had warrants out for his arrest and took him into custody. During a search of Dudley's vehicle deputies located methampheta- mine. • Lauretha Dawn Starnes was sentenced to Prop. 36 probation for possession of a controlled sub- stance. Officer contacted Landry in regards to a suspicious person. After receiving consent to search officers located a bag belonging to Landry which contained a methamphetamine pipe, a syringe and a spoon with methampheta- mine residue.
