The City's Purchasing Department is a division of the Finance Department and its webpage features current bid opportunities with the City, bid documents from previous bids and information to help businesses bid on contracts. Accessible at www.FayettevilleNC.gov/Purchasing, the Purchasing Department webpage will not only help businesses, but also assist the general public with any questions they may have. "The City of Fayetteville welcomes the opportunity to do business with interested merchants and vendors in the community," said Doug Hewett, Interim City Manager. "Staff is hopeful that the new Purchasing webpage will help increase opportunities for business owners - especially local business owners - as well as provide a more transparent process for doing business with the City." "The City of Fayetteville's Purchasing Department is a division of the City Finance Department and is responsible for the acquisition of all purchases for the City including materials, supplies, services and equipment," said Cheryl Spivey, Chief Financial Officer. "The Purchasing Department makes every effort to make the most economical acquisition of quality materials and services and the new webpage will assist staff and the business community with that process." The webpage also has a Vendor Registration Form for businesses to submit, enabling staff to reach out to them for future business opportunities. Quick Links on the webpage include: • Doing Business With The City • Bid Opportunities • Bid Tabulations • Commodity Codes • FY17 Budget • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) • Hire Fayetteville First initiative • Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (SDBE) Program • Surplus Property (Fayetteville PWC) • Terms and Conditions • Upcoming Events • Automated e-mail notifications to vendors Additionally, the City maintains an open door policy for all potential bidders and encourages the participation of minority and Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (SDBE) in the purchasing process; the website offers further information for minority and Small Disadvantaged Business Enterprises.
