Downstairs in the west wing, brothers will no longer pump iron
in a dark, cramped, depressing space. Instead, they will keep
fit in a much larger, bright workout space that older alumni
will remember as the chapter room. Lockers for out-of-house
brothers will make it more convenient for non-residents to use
the house.
The Alumni Suite – The alumni room will remain the most
unchanged space in the renovated house. But the sinking floor
will be repaired and the aging deck will be replaced. And,
utilizing the space more efficiently, the west room of the alumni
suite will be used—except when it is being used for alumni
events—as another quiet study space and library.
A new roof, code compliant wiring and plumbing, new
technology for heat and air conditioning and many other new
and improved features will make our renovated and repurposed
SigEp house one of the best on campus.
There remain opportunities for you to participate in this
new beginning. New contributions or adding to your already
generous support will reduce the size of the mortgage needed
to pay for the renovations.
In-kind gifts can also make a difference. Gifts of a wide variety
of furnishing and equipment will reduce costs significantly. A
partial list of in-kind possibilities include:
• Bedrooms: two desk chairs per bedroom
• Laundry Room: full-size stackable washer/dryer units
or offer them at cost
• Workout Room: free weights, tread mills, rowers, stair
climbers, stationary bikes or other fitness equipment
• Dining Room: high-quality dining room tables and chairs
• Living Room/TV Room: large-screen television,
couches, end tables, and lounge
• Residential Learning Center: built-in bookcases and
study carrels, conference tables and chairs, and an office
desk and chair
• Chapter Room: a large supply of good folding chairs
for Chapter meetings and as needed elsewhere
Whether with a new pledge or contribution, an increase in
the gift you have already generously given, or an in-kind
gift, please keep in mind…
