18 UCW JUNE 22-28, 2016 WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM Don't be just another face in the crowd. We can help your business get noticed. UP & COMING WEEKLY 910.484.6200 JAMES PALENICK, Director, City of Faye eville Economic & Business Development Department, Contribu ng Writer. 433 Hay Street Fayetteville, NC 28301-5537 www.FayettevilleNC.gov (910) 433-1FAY (1329) /cityoffayettevillegovernment Insta Join Team Fayetteville! Follow Your City on Social Media: Engaging You About Your City Government Engaging You About Your City Government Public Gains Access to Searchable Database for Commercial Sites and Buildings by JAMES PALENICK The City of Fayetteville's Office of Economic and Business Development announced recently that the City's website now offers prospective builders, developers, business owners and entrepreneurs the ability to log on and gain immediate, real-time access to constantly-updated listings of commercial and industrial lands, buildings and portions of buildings available for sale or lease within Fayetteville. By logging on to the City's website at www.FayettevilleNC.gov and then scrolling over the heading, "Business and Development" and selecting, "Economic & Business Development," the user can then click a tab on the left portion of the screen, titled "Commercial Sites and Buildings." By clicking this tab, the user gains immediate access to the map-based, interactive, searchable database and can find specific types of properties or buildings; in selected locations; within specified ranges of price, size, acreage, square foot, zoning district, class of construction, and multiple other parameters – with the further ability to gain access to broker or listing agent contact information and detailed background data on individual properties. Unlike most property databases, which are dependent on the listing broker, owner or agent to input, update, amend or remove listings or listing information, this state-of-the-art data-base is hosted, maintained and constantly updated by Xceligent systems, an independent third-party provider of software and property-inventory databases whose approach is based on a GIS platform where all properties are fully identified and catalogued first and then layered with real-time updates as to for sale and/or for lease information. This relatively inexpensive use of the latest technology is the most recent way in which the City of Fayetteville's Office of Economic & Business Development is fulfilling its mission by supporting the needs of business owners and entrepreneurs who may be looking to locate, start-up or expand their operations within Fayetteville.
