Special to the DN Tehama Family Fitness Center honored a lost friend, Friday night, in former Red Bluff police officer Dave Mobilio. The 3rd annual Dave Mobilio Bench Press Championships took place in Dave's Cave weight room located within the center. This memorial weight room was added and was a great bench presser. The event raises money for the Dave Mobilio scholarship fund through the Butte Police academy. Mobilio had a passion for power lifting energy rise as the weights got heavier, the music got louder and the room became packed with spectators. Results: Womens Division Lightweight: Pam Jones with a press of 100 pounds Womens Division Heavyweight: Defending champ Megan Rector won the heavy weight division with a lift of 125 pounds. Throughout the night one could feel the Mens Division Lightweight: The under 150-pound division winner was Tyler Demerath with a lift of 245 pounds. Redfield, a member of the Embry-Riddle Univer- sity men's basketball team, was named a Dak- tronics-NAIA All-Ameri- ca Scholar-Athlete. Earlier this season Redfield received CoSI- DA Academic All-Dis- trict and Academic All- Conference honors. Redfield walked onto the Embry-Riddle team in the fall of 2009 and car- ries a 3.87 grade point average in aerospace engineering at the Day- tona Beach, Fla. school. He was also a 2010-11 ESPN the Magazine's Lewis won the heavy weights with heaviest lift of the night at 420 pounds. Jessie Walker won the body weights for reps with a set of 170 pounds for 32 reps. Other impressive performances were 13 year old Henry Bartolomei with a lift of 140 pounds, Kyle Dudley benched his body weight 29 time and finished with a 330- pound max lift. "It was nice to see some new faces com- peting this year, some competitive and some just wanting to set a new personal record," general manager Troy Lalaguna said. "Without a doubt Dave's Cave is the place to train if you want to get strong. Thanks to all the athletes who competed and all the spectators that supported this event." Next years competition will be in March. TFFC will also be hosting the Tehama Pump and Run Bench Press and 5k compe- tition on May 5 and Tehama's Strongest Man on July 21. For more info contact Troy at 528-8656. BASEBALL won their second tourna- ment of the season, Tuesday, completing an undefeated stretch in Sacramento. Red Bluff went 4-0 at the Sacramento Tournament. They came from behind in the seventh inning twice on Monday, beating Merced 4- 3 and then Cosumnes Oaks 5-4. The Red Bluff Spartans On Tuesday the Spartans whipped Kennedy 9-3 and then beat Burbank by the mercy rule 12-2 in five innings. Red Bluff won the 1B Wednesday April 4, 2012 Redfield named All-American Redfield Academic All-District second team honoree. Redfield graduated from Red Bluff Union High School in 2009. He is the son of Andy and Connie Redfield. Spartans win 2nd tourney of season Oroville tournament earlier this season, by beating rival Pleasant Valley in the cham- pionship game. The Spartans have won 14 straight games. Evan Sinclair and Robby Lasby has big days for Red Bluff, Tuesday. Sinclair went 5-for-7 with three RBIs and Lasby went 5-for-6 with four RBIs.
