The following defend- ants were sentenced in Tehama County Superior Court, according to the Te- hama County District At- torney's Office: RecentState/Local Prison Commitments: People vs. Jimmy Lee Shasteen, Domestic Vio- lence; Burglary Brief history: The De- fendant was originally granted probation for a domestic violence inci- dent involving his girl- friend in which he grabbed and shook her, scratched her arms and then choked her. He violated his proba- tion by committing a bur- glary of a rental property. He entered the unoccu- pied rental property and stole three spools of cop- per wire. Sentenced to 4 years and 8 months in state prison People vs. Rogelio Edu- ardo Mora, Transportation for Sale of a Controlled Substance; Transportation for Sale of a Controlled Substance; Failure to Ap- pear; Transportation for Sale of a Controlled Sub- stance and Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed with a Fire- arm Brief history: The TIDE task force contacted the Defendant because he had warrants for his ar- rest. The Defendant was in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine and admitted that he had been selling methamphetamine for a number of years. This arrest and conviction vio- lated his probation in his other cases. The Defen- dant was a passenger in a car that was stopped for a Vehicle Code violation. He was found with a small quantity of methamphet- amine. He was originally placed on probation. The Defendant was convicted of failing to appear for court. The Defendant pled guilty and was originally granted probation. The Defendant was driving a car which law enforce- ment stopped for a viola- tion of the Vehicle Code. A search of the vehicle re- vealed multiple bags of methamphetamine, a dig- ital scale, and a loaded and concealed firearm. The De- fendant pled guilty and was eventually granted probation. Sentenced to a total of 8 years and 8 months in state prison People vs. Jeffrey Todd Burns, Resisting an Exec- utive Officer Brief history: The Te- hama County Sheriff's Of- fice was dispatched to a disturbance. Sheriff Hen- cratt responded and ob- served the Defendant standing in the front yard, armed with a meat cleaver and a butcher knife. The Defendant charged to- wards Sheriff Hencratt, making stabbing and carving motions with his weapons while continuing to disobey orders to drop his weapons. The Defen- dant continually yelled "come on" and "shoot me" at the officers. The Defen- dant eventually stopped, dropped his weapons and was taken into cus- tody. The Defendant pre- viously was convicted of five counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon, which constitute strikes under California law. Sentenced to 6 years in state prison People vs. Marco Al- berto Garcia, Conspiracy to Commit Grand Theft Brief history: The vic- tim, Bulk Barns, con- tracted with Crain Wal- nut to purchase $85,050 worth of walnuts. The De- fendant arrived driving a semi-truck and left with the walnuts. The Victim never received the wal- nuts and filed a police re- port. Law enforcement in- vestigated and discovered the Defendant was the in- dividual who left Crain Walnuts with the ship- ment. He had a previous strike conviction. Sentenced to 6 years state prison People vs. Scott Allen Rothenberger, Burglary and Possession of a Con- trolled Substance; Failure to Appear; Failure to Ap- pear Brief history: The De- fendant broke into the Cal- Fire property on Antelope Boulevard, entering into buildings and rummaging through nine fire engines. He stole several items from within the area. Cal- Fire employees called the California Highway Patrol regarding the burglary. While CHP was investi- gating, the Defendant re- turned to the location and admitted the burglary. He was in possession of Cal- Fire property and a small quantity of methamphet- amine. While the case was pending he failed to ap- pear in court on multiple occasions, which resulted in the charges of Failure to Appear. The Defendant was convicted and origi- nally placed on probation. After multiple violations of probation, the Defendant was sentenced to prison. Sentenced to a total of 7 years and 4 months in lo- cal prison Recent County Jail Com- mitments: People vs. Meeshell Ma- rie Ferreira, Embezzle- ment; Unlawful Sexual In- tercourse and Oral Copula- tion of a Person Under 18; Embezzlement; Perjury Brief history: The De- fendant embezzled $5,285 from the NorCal Clay- busters. She served as a secretary for the youth group and used her po- sition to steal the money over a period of 6 months. The Defendant was engag- ing in an illegal sexual re- lationship with her 17 year old foster son. Taking ad- vantage of her position of trust, she was convicted of sexual intercourse and oral copulation with the juvenile. The Defendant embezzled $1,387 from the local Boy Scout troop. She was the treasurer for the Boy Scout troop and used her position of responsi- bility to steal the money over a period of 8 months. The Defendant committed welfare fraud and signed multiple documents un- der penalty of perjury. Be- cause of her lies, Defen- dant received $4,856 that she was not entitled to. Sentenced to 5 years of formal probation, 810 days in Tehama County Jail, PC 290 registration, and or- dered to pay restitution People vs. Lo Lovan, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon Brief history: The De- fendant was driving a ve- hicle that was stopped for a violation of the Vehicle Code. The vehicle smelled of marijuana and CHP con- ducted a search. In the bed of the truck was a quantity of marijuana and a short- barrel shotgun. The Defen- dant admitted ownership of the shotgun. He had previously been convicted of a felony, making him a prohibited person. Sentenced to 5 years of formal probation, 2 years in prison suspended, and 90 days in Tehama County Jail Upcoming Court Dates -Trials, Preliminary Hearings(PX) & Pre Trial Conferences(PTC): People vs. Quentin Ray Bealer, Murder. Brief history: The De- fendant was arrested and charged with the murder of a 14 year old victim who had been reported missing when she never returned home from school. Officers located the victim's body two days later. PTC/MIL: November 16, at 9 am in Department 27 (Sacramento) TBJ: January 12, 2016 (Department to be deter- mined) People vs. Joseph Cadotte, Voluntary Man- slaughter with Special Al- legation Prior Any Fel- ony; Battery with Serious Bodily Injury with Special Allegation Prior Any Fel- ony Brief history: The De- fendant saw the victim walking down the street, when he approached him and punched him. The victim fell to the ground where the Defendant con- tinued to punch and kick the victim. The victim later died. TBJ: Vacated. Defen- dant plead guilty. SENTENCING: Octo- ber 26, at 8 am in Depart- ment 3 People vs. Travis John Kilburger, Solicitation of Murder (2 counts) Brief history: Defendant was in custody on domes- tic violence charges when he solicited another in- mate to kill two individ- uals in exchange for cash and a vehicle. TBJ: Vacated. Defen- dant Plead guilty. SENTENCING: Novem- ber 19, at 1 pm (Depart- ment to be determined) People vs. Poly Duenas Sanchez, Lucio Nenecia Madera, Gabino Madera, Murder with Special Al- legation Personal and In- tentional Discharge of a Firearm, GBI, Conspiracy to Commit a Crime with Special Allegation Per- sonal and Intentional Dis- charge of a Firearm, GBI. Brief history: The Vic- tim had met up with the three Defendants regard- ing money that was alleg- edly owed to the victim. During this confrontation the victim was chased down and shot twice with a shotgun. The victim died as a result of his injuries. PTC: October 26, at 1:15 pm in Department 3. TBJ: December 2, at 1 pm (Department to be de- termined) People vs. Alan Duane Doulphus Jr., Chase Alan Doulphus: Murder, spe- cial allegation felony mur- der, personal and inten- tional, use of a firearm, assault with a firearm, false imprisonment by vi- olence, transportation of marijuana. Brief history: The de- fendants went to a res- idence that contained a marijuana grow. The de- fendants confronted the victim and two other men who were at the residence and ordered them to the ground at gunpoint. The defendants proceeded to tie up the victim and the two men with zip ties and duct tape. The victim was able to free himself and at- tempt to flee the residence but was shot several times by the armed defendants. The victim eventually suc- cumbed to his injuries. De- fendant's vehicle was lo- cated a short time later and a vehicle pursuit fol- lowed. Defendant's were eventually apprehended and taken into custody. Inside the vehicle officers located a large amount of marijuana. Brief history: The De- fendant is charged with shooting and killing his ex-wife and her father, and shooting a bystander. PPX: October 19, at 10 am in Department 3 PX: October 20, at 1:30 pm in Department 3 People vs. William Fos- ter, Derek Hale, Garrett Lenardo, Zachary Thorn- ton and Robert Beau- grand, attempted murder Brief History: What be- gan as a marijuana deal resulted in kidnapping, robbery and one individ- ual with a gunshot wound. TCSO: People vs. An- thony Nahinu, attempted murder Brief History: The De- fendant is charged with shooting the minor victim. The Defendant plead guilty.
