Each student delivered a speech thanking their parents and teachers and explained their future vocational goals. Everyone in attendance said that the luncheon was a very rewarding experience. Students collected stuffed animals for the officers to keep in their police cruisers. Officers give these out when they make a call in which children are involved. The students presented their donations and toured the police department. The class is shown with Officer Shan- nah Johnson. SALISBURY HIGH SESSION FOR SMITH The Red Bluff-Tehama County American Associa- tion of University Women is again offering a scholarship for fall classes. The application can be picked up at the Tehama County Department of Ed- ucation, 1135 Lincoln St. in Red Bluff. Those applying are to be Tehama County residents and in third or fourth year of college or at the gradu- ate level. They will be asked to provide a brief history, school transcripts and a fi- nancial statement. This summer, in co- ordination with the Te- hama County Department of Education and Mac's Driving School, Red Bluff High School will be offer- ing the Summer ASSET Program. ASSET — After School Safety and Enrich- ment for Teens — is an af- ter school program that of- fers a safe and fun environ- ment for Red Bluff's teens to get involved and get ahead. For five weeks this summer, the program will offer a variety of courses and activities to keep stu- dents active and engaged. The program will be open and free to all stu- dents enrolled to attend Red Bluff High School for the 2015/16 school year. It will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Fri- day from June 15 to July 16. There will be daily weight room access, com- puter lab access, games, credit recovery, get-ahead courses, a tennis camp, a soccer camp and tourna- ment and other great op- portunities for students. There will be a $100 dis- count to students on their Driver's Education and Training course through Mac's Driving School. Registration for the pro- gram is quick and easy and participation for most ac- tivities is completely vol- untary. Transportation will be available to a lim- ited number of students. RED BLUFF HIGH Summer ASSET program offered The Back to School Project, which provides children with new cloth- ing, shoes and back- packs, will be accept- ing applications for the next shopping day noon to 6 p.m. Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon- day, June 10 at the Crys- tal Motel Complex, Ste. L, 333 S. Main St. in Red Bluff. Check the website, www.backtoschoolpro- ject.com/eligibility.html to determine if your family qualifies. Fam- ilies selected for the shopping day in 2014 are not eligible to apply in 2015. When applying, bring a state issued ID for ap- plying adults, birth cer- tificates or custody and guardian documents for all applying children and one or more of the fol- lowing documents that verify all family income: 2014 Tax Return, child support documents, cur- rent paystubs, passport to county services, dis- ability award letter or verification of any form of income. The mission of the project is providing new clothing, shoes, back- packs and haircuts to lo- cal children and sending them back to school with pride, dignity and a feel- ing of self worth.
