In addition to encouraging visitors to stay and spend money in Cumberland County, the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau can assist Cumberland County residents in several ways. I've outlined two below. MEETING PLANNING AND SUPPORT Are you a member of an organization that holds regional, statewide or national meetings? If you are and are interested in bringing a meeting to Cumberland County, our sales staff is happy to work with you to secure your meeting. Some of the ways they can help: * Gather competitive hotel bids for your out of town visitors. By gathering bids from all properties that meet your requirements, we save you a lot of phone calls! * Make recommendations and help secure meeting space- whether at a hotel property, The Crown Complex or an alternative meeting location. * Make recommendations and help you plan itineraries and off- site activities and tours. * Provide materials to promote your meeting and location amenities. * Promote your upcoming meeting locally, regionally or statewide TOURING CUMBERLAND COUNTY Do you have family or friends visiting or are you new to the area and want to learn more about Cumberland County's offerings? We offer a comprehensive event calendar - which is heavily utilized by both locals and visitors. If you know of events we are missing - let us know. OUR SERVICES ARE FREE We are funded by the tax paid by overnight visitors staying in the area, making these services free. Cape Fear Botanical Garden The 80-acre Cape Fear Botanical Garden has of- ferings that range from the sculpted beauty of the winter forest to the exuberant masses of summer flowers. In the Heritage Garden Complex visitors will find an 1880's farmhouse, an original log corncrib, a one-room General Store, a smokehouse, and a 1930's log tobacco barn. Other features include the Daylily and Shade gardens, and the Camellia garden showcasing over 300 camellias. The hawks, herons and migratory birds that frequent the Gar- den have earned it the honor of being on the North Carolina Birding Trail.
