4A – Daily News – Wednesday, February 9, 2011 Commerce business The second month of the year and already we are continuing our efforts to keep irons in the fire on multiple fronts while making sure to work efficiently and lever- age our…your resources. On Jan. 4, Greg Stevens, publisher of the Daily News and chairman elect along with Kristen Gray, Durango Park, pre- sented our commu- nications strategic initiative update to the City Council. Soon you will receive an email containing the newly updated Mission, Vision and Values of the Chamber along with a communications protocol and policy. These guidelines have been devel- oped to strengthen our connection to our members and to always do what is best in the interest of our members. On Feb. 1, I presented to the City Council an update regarding our Group Cohesion strategic initiative which included an impressive list of ongoing efforts of the Chamber Vol- unteers that demonstrate our ability to bring groups together to reach a & common goal. Some of these include the recent business practice of estab- lishing Memorandums of Under- standing (MOU) with groups asking for our part- nership such as Monster Trucks, Cattlemen’s Asso- ciation (Red Bluff Round Up Mixer), 4th of July community commit- tee and the Down- town Red Bluff Business Associa- tion. The MOU is a tool that outlines expectations of both parties and deliverables which assists in manag- ing the work and necessitates defin- ing the scope of work to avoid over- loading the resources of any partner. Additionally, your Executive Com- mittee has found that through the work of our established committees, Group Cohesion is no longer a "Thing" to be worked on, but rather "The Way" we now do business. Certainly we will continue to monitor our progress, however, you won’t see a Group Cohesion Com- mittee Leader or members – it is Thrift store adds moving BUSINESS BRIEFING Check-in will begin 8:30 a.m. Tee off is scheduled for 9 a.m. The fee for the 9 holes of golf is $5 per per- son, which includes a potluck lunch. All calls have been forwarded to the Beacon office, and customers of Appliances Direct should see no dis- ruption in the service they have come to know. With the above announcement, and the fact that Lowes has just named Beacon as its servicer for all Major Home Appliances sold locally, Beacon is now able to expand its service to the Red Bluff area, giving customers there the same quality of service that their Redding customers have come to enjoy over the past 17 years.
