CHAMBER UPDATE Ch haSpireaks I Chris Bostock 2010-2011 Board Chair Business T would like to start by wishing you and your business a happy and prosperous 2011! Te momentum the Chamber experienced in 2010 has continued into the New Year. Te Linda Lee Allan Legacy Fund is continuing to have great success. Launched in October and led by Ralph Huff and Mike Lallier, this campaign for economic de- velopment has had almost 70 investors commit over $1.5 million to date. Success of this campaign is critical as these resources from the private sector are combined with the existing commitment from the City of Fay- etteville, Cumberland County, and the Public Works Commission to drive existing business and expansion and business recruitment to our community. As a re- minder, you can learn more about this campaign at www.faycdf.org Recently, your Chamber announced a new military phone application called “My Military Discounts.” Tis new phone application is dedicated to the US Military and their families and it provides our armed forces with information regarding business locations, websites, and service hours for participating businesses. Fort Bragg drives billions of dollars to our local economy and this is a way for our local businesses to reach that impor- tant demographic. Call Jeff Robinson at (919) 413-1104 or email him at jeff.robinson@theappcore.com or call your Chamber office to learn more about this new way for your business to tap the military market. Finally, please consider this closing note as an open invitation for you to attend the Chamber’s Annual Awards Banquet on January 28 at the Crown Center. Tis is a great opportunity for you to network with leaders in our community and honor individuals who have led our community and their business to success in 2010. Please call the chamber office to make a reser- vation and I will look forward to seeing you there! sinessSpotlight Chamber Ambassadors Give Back to the Community collecting canned goods and toys for children. his year’s Chamber Ambassadors took on a special project called our local Women’s Shelter of Fayetteville with the ambassadors Little did we know that it would help so many others as well.
