Phase V Annexation Utility Installation Update On behalf of the City, PWC manages the installation of sewer services for properties within annexed areas. Since 2007, sewer services have been installed to over 2,700 properties in the Brentwood, LaGrange, Arran Lakes, Summer Hill, and Arran Hills neighborhoods. New projects to install services in the Arran Lakes West, Shenandoah, Arran Park and Winterhills neighborhoods are currently underway. The original installation schedule was developed to address areas with the greatest need for utilities at the time of annexation. Because needs may have changed, PWC will mail surveys to property owners in the remaining unsewered areas to determine their desire for services. PWC has a search feature on its website that enables residents in the Phase V annexation area to determine when sewer installation is scheduled for their property. Other information available online includes: installation timeline, informational brochures for each step of the construction process, videos about what to expect during installation, and links to the City of Fayetteville's annexation website. PWC Watershed Project Honors Vet A PWC project to preserve our watersheds and protect our water quality, is also honoring the memory of the late Charles Easley, a WWII Veteran, and member of the "Triple Nickel" brigade. PWC purchased more than six acres of land in the 1000 block of Carvers Street off Murchison Road from his family in 2011. The land, adjacent to Glenville Lake, is part of PWC's watershed and is used to protect our water quality. Mr. Easley purchased the property in 1956 and was well known in the community. He built a home on the land and lived there until his death in March 2010. After the PWC bought the property, the area has been restored it to its natural state. Recently, PWC installed a sign at the property entrance that honors Mr. Easley. His daughter, Dawne Claiborne said in an October 3rd Fayetteville Observer article, "It's so beautiful and so peaceful," and that her father would have appreciated the final use for the property because he loved the land.
