Pi Beta Phi Welcomes
82 New Members
olorado Alpha has been extremely busy these
past several weeks! With the crazy flood
happening just a few days before recruitment
began, we were in a hurry to repair the water damage
in the kitchen and dining room. Our house director
was able to pull it off in just days! The Pi Phi house
was restored just in time for a fabulous week of
recruitment. We were lucky enough to have Tina
Rivard, Pennsylvania Beta '01, and Kate Malloy,
Nebraska Gamma '99, assist us during recruitment
with voting procedures, which helped a ton. We have
been joined by 82 New Members and look forward to
teaching them all more about our sorority.

We changed up our philanthropy day for recruitment this year, showing the Read > Lead > Achieve
video, allowing our members to get a better understanding of what exactly it is we believe. It was
a hit! We also held a philanthropic event called Lemonade for Literacy where we sold lemonade
for $1 on campus and gave out fliers with information about our philanthropy. This was one of
the many ideas I brought back from convention in San Diego this summer. On October 13, we
hosted the Collegiate Region Seven team for a fun day of Pi Phi education. A few weeks later, as
an alternative to our philanthropy event Arrowspike, we had Pi Phi Pumpkin Patch where people
were able to buy and decorate pumpkins!
Initiation on November 3 was followed by a fun week of big and little festivities! And now our
focus turns to transitioning to our new executive board. The current officers are excited to pass
on our knowledge of each position, in hopes of the continuing progress of the
Colorado Alpha Chapter!
