Thank you. Linda "Ponce" Gebhardt '66 (Continued from Page 1) recruitment. I loved the enthusiasm and the creativity. Even the songs brought forth an emotional wave of desire to want to be a part," says Ponce. "To this day, I continue to feel blessed that the decision was mutual." She also remembered the cookie shine ceremony and the laughter and funny stories that followed, and the simple, yet truly, "heavenly" Initiation Ceremony. Just as she felt as an active member, Ponce believes the Colorado Alpha house is one of the most beautiful on campus. She thinks the new hardwood floors, updated bathrooms, and numerous infrastructure additions, including new furnaces, water heaters, electrical system, and a new security system, all blend well with the charm of the house. "I can hardly wait to see what is next, and I am quite confident that the beauty and comfortable ease of the house with all its up-to-date features will be included Visit Us on the Web in the impressions of the current New Members," says Ponce. She was so impressed by her visit she urges all alumnae to return to Colorado Alpha to see the house and meet the undergraduates to see how enthusiastic they are. "All Colorado Alphas remember the house and what condition it was in during their specific time. They would be amazed as to how it is the same house with its beauty and charm and memories pouring out in all directions. It has just been adapted to be more safe and sound, spacious and comfortable, have more areas for quiet study, while interfacing with the advancements of this growing technological time," says Ponce. "If Pi Phis are to stay competitive, especially academically and technologically, with other Greek houses, as well as the inroad of new and renovated off-campus The official yearbook photo of the Colorado Alpha Chapter in 1969. housing, we have to keep up with the times and give girls an attractive place where they really want to live and study." Ponce lives in Boulder, Colorado, with her husband, Richard.
