The WISE OLD OWL Epsilon Kappa Chapter Brick Campaign Successful; Second Phase to Begin in the Spring reetings from the Memphis Sigma Chi Housing Group. We have had an eventful spring and summer and look forward to continued success in the future. G This spring, the Housing Group initiated a brick campaign to raise funds. These bricks listed the name and initiation year of each brother and were installed on the walkway leading to the front door of the Chapter House. The brick campaign was the idea of board member Stephen Evers '95, who supervised this project. Bricks were sold to actives, alumni, and sweethearts. Alumni and sweethearts were charged $350 per brick, and active brothers were charged $125. The campaign was a resounding success, with over 90 bricks sold. The funds raised during this campaign will assist the Housing Group in paying the property taxes and addressing ongoing maintenance issues. We also have plans to make improvements to the property. We will be initiating the second phase of the brick campaign this coming spring. For those of you who have not seen the installed bricks, I strongly encourage you to go by the Chapter House and take a look. The engraving is of the highest quality, and we look forward to these bricks preserving our legacy for years to come. of Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University of Memphis Epsilon Kappa Places Top in Academics Members Recognized at Awards Banquet and Balfour Leadership Training Workshop he Epsilon Kappa Chapter wrapped up a great spring semester and summer. Our annual spring formal in New Orleans was a success again this year, and we are proud to announce Kaylee Willis as our newest Chapter sweetheart. Kaylee is a member of Kappa Delta and serves as president of her chapter. T SIGMA CHI OUTSMARTS THE COMPETITION For the third semester in a row, Epsilon Kappa received the highest grades of all the fraternities on campus with a 3.21 overall Chapter GPA. Our average was third overall in the Greek system, narrowly missing the top spot by just a few hundredths of a point. RECONNECTING WITH ALUMNI Epsilon Kappa worked closely with our alumni this summer to host two very successful alumni events at our Founders' Day and Burgers, Brats, and Brew social. The attendance at our Founders' Day event was nothing short of remarkable! It was great to see many alumni for the first time in many years and share a good story or two about their Sigma Chi experience. The University of Memphis football Homecoming game is Saturday, November 9, and we will have an event at the Chapter House on Friday, November 8, at 6:30 p.m. This has become an annual event and is a great opportunity for alumni and their significant others to see the house, talk about old times, and meet the actives. Please make plans to attend this party and hear about the success that the Housing Group and this Chapter have achieved.
