Tuesday, October 8, 2013 – Daily News 3A Community people&events Constitutional seminar The Redding Tea Party will be hosting a Constitutional Seminar with KrisAnne Hall from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at the Senior Citizens Hall, 2290 Benton Drive, Redding. Cost is $5 per person. Bring your own snacks, drinks, etc. and settle in for a great afternoon. Hall is an attorney and former prosecutor, fired after teaching the Constitution to Tea Party groups — she would not sacrifice liberty for a paycheck. She is a disabled veteran of the US Army, a Russian linguist, a mother, a pastor's wife and a patriot. She now travels the country and teaches the Constitution and the history that gave us our founding documents. Hall does not just teach the Constitution, she lays the foundations that show how reliable and relevant our founding documents are today. She presents the genealogy of the Constitution — the 700-year history and five foundational documents that are the very roots of American Liberty. Born and raised in St. Louis, Mo., Hall received her undergraduate degree in Bio-Chemistry from Blackburn College in 1991 and her J.D. from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law and is a former Russian Linguist for the US Army. She worked for several years as a state prosecutor and two years with a prominent law firm defending religious liberty and first amendment rights. She now resides in North Florida. Hall is the author of Not a Living Breathing Document: Reclaiming Our Constitution, and the DVD series The Roots of Liberty: The Historic Foundations of The Bill of Rights and Bedtime Stories for Budding Patriots and Essential Stories for Junior Patriots. Hall is an incredibly passionate speaker — a true Patrick Henry of our time. She speaks to audiences all across the country on Constitutional history, American exceptionalism, and the fight for liberty. 90 years ago... I hope you fail. I hope you fall flat on your face. I hope you stick your neck out and I hope you get it metaphorically chopped off trying to do something that was a big risk in the first place. I hope you feel anxious and scared and that if you fail you won't be able to face another person or another day and I hope it happens in a really big way. Wait, did you think I mean this in a mean way? Nope. I mean it in the most loving, cheerleading, life coaching, got your back sort of way. Do you have a dream or something you really want to do, but you are so afraid of the negative possibilities, that you just won't take the risk? You aren't alone. Look to the left and the right of you in the Starbuck's line, chances are someone there is just like you. Someone there wishes they were doing something better with their lives but they are too afraid of failure to do it. They tell themselves as they lay in bed at night, dreading going to work in the morning, that they can't do any better, that they could fail, ruin their reputation, lose their income or their standing if they went for whatever it is that they want. They can't be who they really are because they will be rejected or they can't step out in faith in any one area of life because people will be mean and they unable to fulfill a people. All the better. When the dream. Here's the truth.
