Events include visiting campus on Friday, a pre-game and after-game social with finger foods at the Elks Lodge prior to the Homecoming Game. Saturday will feature wine tasting at a local winery and a prime rib buffet at 6 p.m.at the Elks with Larry Jones of Chico as master of ceremonies. Gunnar Flagstad of Norway, Red Bluff's first exchange student, who graduated with the Class of 1958, will be attending. The final event on Sunday will be a picnic at the Elks prepared by the Bonham brothers at 11:30 a.m. Pictured are Marie Bartlett, Larry Jones, Cliff Taylor and Dian Bryngelson. CattleWomen to meet The Tehama County CatttleWomen will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 the Tehama County Farm Bureau Conference Room on Sale Lane in Red Bluff. Members are asked to bring a dessert to share. On the agenda will be plans for the CattleWomen's annual fall luncheon. The theme for the luncheon is Harvest Moon and it will be held at Carlino's in the Rolling Hills Casino in Corning on Nov. 9. Tickets are available from Shelley Macdonald at 529-9679. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. and is preceded by a boutique at 10 a.m. Luncheon chairwoman is Jeannie Garton. CattleWomen dues are now due. State and local dues are $35; additionally, members may join the American National CattleWomen for $60. All monies should be sent to Shirley Davis. The Cattlewomen will participate in Farm Day for the fourth-graders on Oct. 15 at the fairgrounds. Cattlewomen recently helped with Education Day at the Tehama District Fair where sixth-graders learn about agriculture, math and energy. Italian Beef Pot Pie is from the 2013 National Beef Cook-Off. You could use a pound of fajita beef, already cut into strips. 2 well-trimmed boneless beef top loin (strip) steaks, cut 1 inch thick (6 to 8 ounces each) 3 teaspoons olive oil, divided 1 cup chopped onion 1 cup diced carrots 1 package (8 ounces) mushrooms, sliced 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained 2 tablespoons dry garlic herb & wine marinade mix 1 package (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese 1. Heat oven to 375'F. 2. Cut beef steak lengthwise in half, then crosswise into 1/4 inch thick strips. 3. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in large, nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add half of beef; 2 minutes or until outside of beef is no longer pink. Remove from skillet. Repeat with 1 teaspoon of remaining oil, remaining beef. Bail was $48,000. • Brent Ray Close aka Elizabeth Emerson Lise Helseth and will provide a trio of martini tastings, with fullsize cocktails available for purchase as well as local appetizers from Bianchi Orchards, the Olive Hut, the Enjoy Store, the Palomino Brent Lee Close, Brent Gordan and Troy Rice, 46, Alturas was arrested at Walnut and Baker for felony transportation of a controlled substance and misdemeanors of obstruction, trespassing and destroying evidence. Bail was $70,000. • Anthony Ryan Jones also known by the last name Coin aka Mac Jones, 23, Corning was arrested on Center and 5th streets on outstanding charges of two counts of felony possession of a dirk or dagger and misdemeanors of two counts each of vandalism and a bench warrant. Bail was $330,000. • Alexander James Niktaris, 21, Sacramento was arrested on southbound Interstate 5 at Corning Road for felony selling marijuana and possession of marijuana for sale. Bail was $30,000. • Anthony Vince Quezada, 31, Red Bluff was arrested on outstanding charges of felony selling marijuana, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a stolen vehicle and misdemeanor driving on a suspended license.
