Welcome New Businesses Downtown! We've had a few new businesses open recently and a few more are on the horizon so stay tuned! We've already mentioned The Butcher and The Baker, a new organic meat, dairy and artisan bread shop, at 231 Franklin St. At 25 Market Circle, you can now find All Things By Hand, which literally has crafty things to do by hand from beads to yarn and more. Elevo Dynamics, a new 24/7 gym, just opened at 110 Person St., combining martial arts with state of the art family fitness and Kinder Consignments has opened a secondhand shop at 131 Hay Street. The new boutique The Great American Emporium opened earlier this summer at 337 Hay St., along with KCC Photography at 123 Anderson St. and The Tap House at Huske Sports Bar and Grill at 411 Hay St., next to the newly expanded bumbledoo at 417 Hay St. The Cape Fear Healing Center, with a luxurious massage menu, opened upstairs at 308 Hay St., while We Got You Covered, a new event planning company, opened downstairs. Oh, and want a sliced candy coated apple that New Deli is famous for? Look no further than 225 Green St. in the Systel building for their new location! We were also very excited to see the ribbon cut at Level 3 Studio in Sky View (121 Hay St.). They now have a video production studio downtown for filming broadcast videos, promos, commercials and more. Coming soon! The Sweet Palette will be located at 101 Person St. with their yummy cupcakes and cake pops. The Wing Co. at Lido's is opening at 102 Person St. with the same great wing menu that you may have experienced at their franchised locations, including Westwood and Buffalo Lakes area, paired with the fun nightlife of Lido's the Euro Spot. There might even just be a new restaurant moving into the Horne's Café space Enjoy Outside and Get Active Downtown! Now that fall is almost here and the weather has cooled down considerably from those hot, steamy summer days, it is time to get out in nature and see the sights of downtown, even those off the beaten path. There are quite a few options from walking around the main shopping and dining district to a complete natural paradise through the Cross Creek Linear Trail to exploring the history route with the Lafayette Trail. A great place to stretch your legs and see what downtown dining and shopping has to offer is to walk around the Market House to the east, west, north and south and on the side streets that follow. Brick sidewalks line the cutest shops, yummiest restaurants and most fun entertainment venues that Fayetteville has to offer. And there's a great Farmer's Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which offer items this time of year such as muscadine grapes and mini pumpkins. The Cross Creek Linear Trail was developed for the nature lover and exercise buff in mind. Connecting Cross Creek Park and Linear Park with other phases in the works, this scenic walk takes you past Cross Creek and allows for that little bit of tranquility on your lunch hour or even for a morning run. And get ready because the public art project on the horizon for next year is going to give you even MORE reason to check out downtown! More information coming soon!
